Hey everyone! Melissa here... I recently moved up to the LA area and am new to this bike scene/community up here and have yet to go on any rides, but that will soon change.
I felt like i should introduce myself on here, and am excited to get going on the road.

Good luck to you on your temporary/permanent stay here in los angeles. Before you know it... you'll have a hundred and one friends and will know the difference between sarah, sara, and sarah. Either way, get on a bike as soon as possible and let the rest just take care of itself.

Orange County (irvine area).. ha.. so not that far away.. but my life down there was pretty much just work and school, so i am glad i got out of that!

Sunset Ridazz is a spontaneous, spur of the moment ride. Occasionally we will post the ride before hand in an event, but mostly if we wake up and feel like riding and watching the sunset we will post it on here and on twitter!

It was a ride put together by four friends who live to ride and ride to live, and like watching pretty things, in bike forts! No one really controls it, but if you ever want to know if one is happening, it will most likely be up here.
but there will be a SUNSET RIDAZZ this friday!

if you ever want company when going to a ride let me know. im gabby. i live pretty close to you (beverly hills) so we could ride to a ride together if its somewhere across the city.

Go to Midnight Ridazz on Friday, it's the MAIN EVENT.
Take the 12 speed.
Don't be shy, say Hi, write down all the names you see here, or at least for the ones that seem interesting (check out their profiles) and go looking for them, just ask around.
Go with the Theme & HAVE FUN (although it's dead).

actually I wont be going to that ride because i'm leaving to portland today. a shitload of ridazz are going up there. (hence all the portland threads to the left), we will be back on the 21st. meet you sometime after that.

yes, going to Old West Ride will be a ton of FUN - you'll get to meet the original bunch from MR and get an awesome bike ride in the DTLA and eastside areas.
or
you can stay west and do the sunset ridazz ride - which is just a chill mosey followed by a HULK of a SMASH of a party. you'll meet plenty of the westside there. a lot are heading to Portland to eat their streets - so you'll have to wait till they get back to experience our craziness.
either way - both of these events happen frequently - it's really a choose your own adventure night!
anyway - awesome to meet you thru the internets and i look forward to hanging out in real life - real life.. lolz..

If youre going to pier pressure on saturday, check out the midnight ridazz ride old west ride on saturday. It's the traditional second-friday big eastside ride, so it will be a great introduction to the scene. Each part of la has its own distinct feel which you'll quickly learn to love.
Just make sure you make it to taco tuesday this week, it's the big anniversary ride for the BEST ride on the westside.

YES! I was hooked after half an hour of riding with CRNAK mob before my bike broke on my first ride. This summer is going to be incredible! You cam at the right time!
And don't worry about what "side" to ride with! Both are amazing and have spectacular rides and people so wherever you feel like riding, ride there! Best to have friends all over the place in my opinion!

im planning on doing Taco Tuesday and maybe a few more rides this week before i leave for my first vacation in over a year *phew*.. ill only be gone a week though (June 20-28), then its back to riding and work. woot.
my first ride was the Ridazz of the old west.. then i did pier pressure then i was going to do Momz or Robots but Bozo (i think that was his name) got too wasted so i rode around with my friend who came up from SD for the rest of the night.

I always scratched my head when people made a claim they're new when they lived what, 30 miles away? I never experienced this before till I came to the LA area. When I lived in Sacramento no one ever said they were new if they lived 30 miles away, and that isn't even a continuous urban jungle like here in LA.

How did you pick this place to live? My wife and I lived on the east coast and picked on walkability scores...and ended up caught in the land between the Orthodox Jewish Community and the Melrose scene. Weird community.
