Friends of the Los Angeles River Clean-Up Ride

The Friends of the Los Angeles River are hosting their annual river clean-up event.
This ride meets at the Long Beach Bike Station and will ride six miles up the river trail to the Del Amo Metro Station clean-up site.
There are several sites along the river, so if you live north of L.B. and don't want to ride to the meet up, check the folar website
for other clean-up sites.
We meet at 8:15 am and roll out at 8:30.
The clean up event is from 9:00 am to noon.
Bring:
Gloves
A hat
Sun screen
Sturdy shoes
Power bars or other energy food
Drinking water
There will be live blues music by Bernie Pear...

Urban Double - 200 miles around the border of LA County

This is an uber challenging ride, with slightly more than 200 miles and at least 5000 feet in elevation. This will be the most hard earned spoke card ever!
As far as I know, this route has never been attempted before. Slightly less than half the mileage will be urban terrain with stop lights and half in more scenic and bike friendly terrain. If you have only done one century, do not do this ride. There are rumors of a sweep van but this may not happen.
