Can anyone recommend some long road bike routes with some steep climbs in the LA/OC area? Must have definite, continuous bike lanes. Thanks!

SGV River Trail is nice. More of a slow steady climb. but there are a few decent climbs at the top.
From LB & Azuza is like a 40 mile trip all on separated bike path ... no carzz.
Fairly accessible from the gold line.. if you want to start at the bottom, its about a 7 mile ride from the blueline with lots of decent bikeways along the way.

Yes the SGV river trail is nice. I'd also suggest Palos Verdes. You can get on the Ballona Creek Bike Path in Culver City and take the bike path all the way to Hermosa. Then it's sharrows and bike lanes all the way to PV. Try Palos Verdes Drive East to Crest Rd. for climbing.

This is so easy. Take the train to Union Station at midnight. Leave union station and head east towards Main. Take Main until it turns into Valley.
Take Valley until you have to cross over the mountain in Diamond Bar. Connect up with Mission and ride across every single city in the I.E. until you get to San Bernardino. You have two choices: take the Santa Ana river trail to Oceanside or take the train back home.
Est. time: 10 to 20 hours.
Chances of survival: 80%
