15 laps dog bone style course, short climbs, some ruts, fast, no breaks so you'll be on the pedals the whole time. Not very technical, a venerable course in the CBC history. I like to have the 1st one be somewhat user friendly, then we drop the hammer.

Technical climb, fire road, more climbing, technical decent, more climbing, technical decent where you fry your brakes. Be careful, there's no shame in walking a section that you don't think you can't handle, finish in one piece. You will be given directions that you will forget and get lost. Stay sharp. Climbing gears recommended.

Loop style, some technical stuff, some steep but short climbs. Each lap around 2 miles, 10 laps. Plenty of bushes to barf in on trail. Easier endurance gearing recommended.
That was a great course. The technical sections were challenging enough yet not crazy, and the climbs were difficult but do able by the stronger riders. Also it afforded spectators a great view.
Suggest scoring by time instead of set laps. Set a time limit, for example 1 hour,
then score riders by laps compleated in that time. This format will help get you to
the shop on time, as it will eliminate waiting for riders to compleat the set laps.
I think if it was 6 laps or perhaps 7 it would have done better, we'll go back to it at some point and try it out, 23 miles was too much, I'm still sore. Anyway the next one is a breeze by comparison:
# 4 But wait, there's More!
Meet Point: 7am

Granada Hills, CA 91344

Loop Style 10 laps, each lap is a mile long. Easy, rollers, low tech stuff, one very short climb, some inclines. Faster gearing ok. We've done this one before with the slingshots if you've been on it then you know what to expect if not everything we've done this time has been longer and harder.
But wait, there's more!
After you finish we're going to break off into teams of even/odd finishers and play some capture the flag. The winning team gets double points for the heat!
But wait, there's more!
You will also be given a foam sword to battle with so not only do you have to ride, you have to fight. It will be so fun!
But wait, there's more!
I will be doing a small give-away of some bikes parts and stuff and a hand built coaster brake wheel set after the run.
But wait, there's more!
We will be rolling back to Atomic Cycles to do a after event bb-q.
And that's it!
