For others:
Some drunk dudes hassled us at a stop, and ended up following us and driving their SUV directly towards riders. They ended driving into me and pinning me into a parked car. No one was really hurt, and police were very close and arrested them.
First Roadblock gets hit, then this. Something in the air pissing off drivers?
Yeah that shit was scary. He was fucking reving his engine in the bike lane. He almost took me out as I made that left onto Eagle Rock Blvd. Anyways, I ended up calling 911 and giving them the license plate and make of the car, cuz all I could think about was Roadblocks orders to "get the plate".......If you need anything hit me up at sunandloops at google.......com
p.s. it must have been meth or crack or some other bullshit in the air those guys were breathing....

Good job getting the plates and calling the police, guys! Way to go, wolves. But seriously what in the world is going on here?! I'm sure people were twice as drunk as normal today, considering it was Memorial Day.
Glad you guys were able to get some police assistance on the scene.
I think the takeaway from this is: The police REALLY want drunk drivers off the road. If someone is hassling you like this, it's reasonable to assume they're drunk. The police will probably respond pretty quickly to a report of that.

I ride through Eagle Rock all the time. It's a cool place, and I've never had any sort of problem before. Don't hate.

Yeah. They were obviously drunk. When they were talking shit at the gas station they smelled like booze and just looked smashed. Also they threw a half empty beer can from their car window. I think the police found that one.

i think they need to be charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon. They were using the car to ram Jon against the parked car. Could any post any info about how these guys were charged and where are they now?
What's with people throwing full beers!?
We were super polite to these douches at Echo Park Lake and just as they get into their car to leave they throw a near full can of beer at us, then drive away. WTF!!

For one thing, I want to see these guys get what's coming to them. For another, I genuinely want to learn more about how our judicial system works. Would love to see a trial in action. (I've been called for jury duty before but ... well, the case I served on was kind of a debacle.)
The man charged with the offense was "... found guilty on all counts. He was sentenced to the maximum for a first time offender, 180 days county jail. He also was placed on 2 years probation, ordered to pay a fine, and must make restitution to [the cyclist] and the people whose car he hit. "
Note: only one of the two dudes was charged with anything, as far as I can tell. Don't know what happened to the other one. Hopefully this was the right one to charge.
