Cyclocross is the punk rock cousin of road racing. It's super fun no matter what place you are in.
Single speed cyclocross is the punk rock cousin of cyclocross. Okay, that's lame, but either way the Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships are coming to LA!

It's an insane weekend of rides, parties, hang outs, craziness and also some racing.
It's at the Not A Cornfield / LA Historic Park and in collaboration with the
So Cal Cyclocross Prestige Series. That race has geared beginner categories for only $20, CX bike rentals and even a UCI PRO race!
All right here in DTLA. Spectating is free. Hope to see a lot of you.

In re: to ratio I found an interesting discussion here:

I was pretty curious myself. Only slightly harder, or in some cases equal to a Polo ratio...

Re gearing it's usually somewhere around 39-42 x 18. The course at Not A Cornfield is pretty flat so people will probably gear up.
It's a whole weekend of events-
Friday- Tour of LA rides
Fri night- Party at Downtown Los Angeles Bikes
Sat-Qualifiers in the morning for SSCXWC then the
So Cal Cyclocross races from 1-930pm, ending with the UCI Pro fields
Sat night- Ride to and party at Golden Road Brewery
Sun- Geared fun races, UCI Pro races and then the SSWCCX 'finals'
There are CX bike rentals for $10 (they might book up so reserve online) and the cheaper options are:
Saturday's races are $30
Sunday morning geared races

This photo by Donovan Jenkins sums up the weekend pretty well! Not too often you see an Internationally ranked UCI Pro wear a costume, take the 'Tequila Shortcut' and happily deal with on the fly course adjustments.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made this a great time!
