THE 3 AMIGOS RIDE

So I came up with an idea..it can be a one off ride or different leaders ride after ride...
3 ride leaders would each take a leg of a 24-25 mile ride...
eg: 1st leader would lead with his/her own 8-9 mile route with their music and style of ride leading....
second leader takes over 2nd leg keeping close to their ride's style and whatever music they choose, and so on for 3rd leader.
I think it'll work....what do you guys think?
this could continue monthly with the same or new leaders, or if people wanna get their feet wet with leading a ride, they can try it out on this ride. only thing is that the 3 leaders need to pick the 2 stops before hand so they can all make up their routes individually...

there are so many awesome ride leaders that it will be hard to chose from. maybe a ride leader raffle to chose who will lead us to the end of nowhere ?

Really great idea!
If there are too many leaders who want to do rides how about having 2 seperate ride groups?

Well, we're lacking in BIG group rides...so this idea could be ongoing weekly, bi weekly, monthly, whenever....each stop can be a spoke card as well from that leader...

I'm all for breaking up rides into groups. They can always re-converge.

Love it. I lead a ride to Pio Pico for a picnic before they were going to close* and a friend lead the ride back to the start. We didn’t collaborate on the routes and it went really well (although, for a larger group ride perhaps that would be a good idea). I had a lot of fun doing this because the route back was completely different from mine so there was an element of surprise even to the ride leaders
*at the time I was checking the Pio Pico site, they were trying to raise funds to keep the park open and were not close to their goal. I just checked the site and they did reach their goal and will remain open through June 2013
I keep my rides very small and they are not posted anywhere public (usually spread the word by email/phone calls) but this collaborative effort sounds good, I would definitely consider participating. I just get worried about the number of people showing up and don't do too well with gauging the riding level of the group so i either make it too tough or in this case, i might end up making it too safe and boring. I am sure this is standard shit you guys deal with on every ride you host.

Brilliant idea. Especially if the ride leaders wear the outfits the 3 Amigos wear. Hats and all.

It worked for the WTFLOL rides, half me, half Darge, all orchestrated chaosness.
No split groups though one big ride all together.

It worked for the Discordian Ride. And tell me that wasn't controlled chaos.

No because it's part of one long route.
I was suggesting multiple routes to the same destination that can converge at certain points. (Sound familiar?)

Borfo shots down all my ride ideas, and always ditches out on giving me rides home. Youre paying for my trip to Detroit!

This concept will only work if Tony V and his little piggies escort the ride. Every ride needs more pork.

The 3 Amigos has nothing to do with WTFLOL, or Discordia, or any other style of ride....
you come out to the ride, each leg is led by a different person...there are not various routes happening at the same time to the same destination....if you want that, you can do the spoke n art ride...this is to get a lot of people out and have various people leading you throughout the night.
I'm going to start planning the first one. I will be contacting people soon.
