Borrow bikes?

It's a stretch but I thought I'd try...
My family and I are visiting LA from MI during the early part of April. We're coming by train!
I organize a Bike Party ride in my area and have met LA Ridazz on other visits.
We're visiting relatives who live near Cahuenga and Franklin.
When I've visited before I've just bought a garage sale bike, fixed it, used it during visit, then left it leaning with a "free bike" sign. (An enjoyable process.)
But this time all 4 of us are coming. So I thought I'd ask around. We're riders and would prefer to ride rather than drive around. We're also all pretty tall. Of course, even 1 loaner would be great. It would be returned in better condition than borrowed if issues are minor (to a mechanic) -- lube, truing, adjust, etc.
I love LA and I love riding in LA.
Thanks! -- JP

Contact the Flying Pigeon. I know they rent out bikes for entire days, maybe an entire weekend.

located in highland park. The metro is near you and the store is just a few blocks away from the metro station.

Great idea! I just checked Amtrak and word in blogosphere is that their long distance trip trains are starting to incl bikes, too, but it looks like our big ol' trans-US trains won't have it. Rats! That woulda been so cool! No boxes, wheel em on and off, a breeze! That'll be sweet when it happens. If someone knows otherwise, please post. I suppose I should phone em up to confirm. It's a new thing so maybe it's almost ready or something.
