Water shortage

There has been much talk on the news of late about a water shortage and how low the reservoirs are. Of course, what happens in the south east of England tends to dominate the news media to the point that if it's happening in the Home Counties, it must be so throughout England. So, here's an image (well it's 4 images in fact) that I took on my phone yesterday of Errwood reservoir in the Goyt Valley just outside Buxton. As you can see, we have a very full reservoir - as full as I've ever known it. Apart from the fact that we DO get more rain here than in the SE, what other reasons are there to account for us having so much more water? Well, possibly we don't wash very often? Or more likely, we don't wash our 2 or 3 cars every day, and I certainly don't water my garden!Â
