Skill Trade! Tattoos for travel supplies!

Hey what's up I'm newly registered to Midnight Ridazz so therefore this is my very first post! Hence a lot of you OG's probably wondering who the f**k I am. Enough of that though! For the sake of keeping this as short and as easy to read as my overly active mind can allow I'll get straight to the point. (kinda) So just this week I finally took a trip from LA down to SD 128 miles on fixed with a 40 lbs backpack gripping at my sweaty shoulders. (it was awesome! Gooch was obliterated though). Now I'm not that new to riding been at it for 6 years now. But because of this trip I'm now addicted to long distance bike travel/touring and am now in the process of trying to get a touring or mtb bike. But alas as fate has it I'm pretty broke right now as I am a TATTOO apprentice under a great Italian Tattoo artist. While my sensei has enough confidence in me working on costumers, as an apprentice most of the work I am doing is for free or of little charge. (with the exception of a few big pieces i'm working on that I am making decent money out of) I am asking for a trade out of whoever is reading this and can help me out and is also interested in tattoo art or art in general.
WHAT I NEED. Panniers, Rack, trailer. MTB bike?? What I'll trade in return: tattoos (worth whatever you're supplying me with, i'll paint furniture. Clean your car/bike/house haha, anything art related pretty much. I also would like to meet other Ridazz that have done some touring and can give me advice in what I want to set out and do.

Full time tattoo apprentice, work at the shop 12 hours a day. Don't have time for a shitty ass mind melting conformist job!!! :P I'm no collar worker and what money I do have I'd rather spend it on trip related stuff instead of grocery bags that i'd end up throwing away anyway. Buuuut screw it I can see how "supportive" fellow "ridazz" are in this community. btw I got everything i needed anyway. Riding to SF next month! :)

I picked a tread with no replies, as in 0. I read what you posted, found it amusing that you are resorting to the barter of tattoos so you can tour on a bicycle and I posted what I knew would get more views on your tread, so maybe someone looking for a tattoo could get at you... getting money or goods for services rendered is a job so good for you that you got it all together. Being shop bitch is no fun so why not tour and forget all about it?

sorry would you guys like me to come back so you can be dicks to total strangers who did nothing to you?
fucking dumbasses, be smart nomads and don't reply. these people telling you to "get a job" are ironically professional trolls.
they say LA is full of douchebags for a reason.

If being told "get a job" on a thread by a complete stranger is akin to being a "dick" and a "fucking dumbass" and a "professional troll", then I guess I can't argue with that logic. I mean some guy is willing to trade paniers for shitty tattoos, then why not? I mean having a job is no way to make a living, right? Oh Brittany, thanks for regulating up in this bitch. How the hell did any one get anything done without you? I hope Nomads rides happily during his tour while his career and time spent in a shop rots away and his skill set goes back to what it was before, because who needs an actual way to make money, who needs a job? Fuck work!

Hey man! I haven't been busting my ass as a tattoo apprentice for a year to give people shitty tattoos! ( i did enough of that the first month) haha I'm not your friends homie that can hook you up with cheap tattoos (and probably hepatitis abc) I actually know my trade. And I like rotting my time away! Jobs are boring anyway. :)

There's the wheelmen etc. But then again ridazz is sort of special in terms of cycling history in Los Angeles. No rida let behind is a good one. There are bike paths for recreation and stuff, cycling is an established sport and recreational activity, but the midnight ridazz rides have always been original events fresh off the press. They are kind of fun. Everyday cycling isn't really the 'norm' in los angeles, a lot of people do other stuff drive cars a lot etc. Ride on.

hey nomads....not trying to be confrontational and maybe you agree, but saying "fuck work" and being a proper tattooer don"t mix. sure it's a labor of love, but from what i can gather, being a tattooer is above and beyond the workload of a "straight" job.

to be clear..didn't mean to misquote you....i know you didn't actually say fuck work, but carried the sentiment of hating straight jobs...what i posit is that you have chosen a path which requires more work than a square job.

That was my point but you said it much kinder, something I must always do. Being a tattooer is hard work, and my friends that tattoo would laugh if I suggested they go on a bike tour. Tattooers are some of the hardest working people I know.
