to whom it may concern
i decided to start up a facebook page for some recent ghost bikes that were put up this year. After they were tied up and the pictures were taken i got to thinking; what happens next? Are these victims forgotten by society? Once the bikes are taken away by the city or hopefully a family member what happens?
I know there is that nationwide ghost bike website but ive submitted some pics and didnt see them go up.
just like ROTW: Creative thing and everyone else that has been involved with ghost bikes whether its other ridaz or organizations that know how important it is to preserve the memories of the dearly departed and give them a proper memorial after being taken away so suddenly, i decided there should be a way for people to go back and revisit the place where these bikes go up.
some of you may agree, many more may disagree with this facebook page. in either case if you would like to add this FACEBOOK: Ghost Bikes-LA
also if you want to add other ghost bike pictures, past, present, or future please do so.
There are many ridaz in our community that know how important a ghost bike is after a tragedy and the importance of locking on up at the site where the rida lost his/her life as soon as possible. I hope this page can serve as a forum for everyone to come together during tragedies like this.
I hope there are less and less ghost bikes to tie up in the future... to the point that we dont ever have to tie another ghost bikie again... but that may not happen, but i can always hope, til then lets give those victims a proper tribute.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD GHOST BIKE PICTURES (Make an album for each individual victim) WITH A DESCRIPTION: name, description of what happened, location and pictures of ghost bike.
IF A GHOST BIKE NEEDS TO BE PLACED CALL ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT IS INVOLVED WITH GHOST BIKE BUILDING INCLUDING: creative thing, long beach HUB, the ridaz formerly known as BORFO, User1, Danny Zuko & Kat, and Ed of Long Beach, or myself
Lets be safe out there. SHARE THE ROAD.
Blessings to you all.
