It wasn't for no reason. It was because I thought it was funny. And not in a way to be mean to you either. If you can dish it, you oughta learn to take it toooooooo. : p
and to answer your question, people that have done un-cool things like tag, steal or be violent have been asked not to come back. It's not an exclusive thing, like "we don't like your face."
Speaking for myself, I think Taco Tuesday should ride to the valley to tell TNS what it is... But then again, we'd have to actually go to the valley, where the rich white people are twice as stuck up and racist, the traffic is more aggressive and instead of a beach there is only a landfill.
On the other hand, Pacoima has the best tacos in LA. I must give props for that.
I've never ridden on a midnight ridazz ride before but I'm thinking about making tomorrow's TT my first... good idea? Also, out of curiousity, where does this coming tuesday's ride end?

our closest beach is malibu and i think malibu is a little bit cleaner than SMA and Venice.
our ride has been drama free since the beginning and there's a reason for that.

I think TT will take the train to Noho Station and then ride back (we should get there around 10pm or so). I think the redline stops around midnight on Tuesdays and I want to kick it at the dam for awhile. Thinking about taking the Cahuenga Pass back, yeah? Only ridden it once or twice, is it a cool ride to Hollywood/Westside? Any better routes over the hill?
PS - Just want to make sure that they aren't filming that day at the Dam.

Cahuenga back is a good way to go from Hansen Dam, unless you're all up for a longer, steeper climb or a bunch of extra miles. It's best done in a large group.
I don't think Hansen sees as much traffic as Sepulveda in terms of filming, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, Hansen is open to the public.

HOLY SMOKES! TT in the 818?!?!?! XL, the LAST train from NoHo back toward DTLA is at 12:54. Cahuenga is sketch, especially going into Hollywood. Wolfpack's done it, and so have a number of us, but I would hate to lead a ride over Cahuenga and have a straggler in the back trying to negotiate the fast oncoming cars merging from the right. Also, holes and bullshit like that. The river path is A -OK to get back to LA, it's just kinda longish cuz it'll take you east first. But like I said up there, last train outta NoHo is at 12:54 - Trust, this is my 'hood!

Noho Station to Hansen Dam (got a good route?)
Hansen Dam to Hollywood
Hollywood to CM Park

Probably catch the train at Pershing Square. It's a little less elevation than going up to Hollywood first. Already making everyone ride more miles for this epic ride, want to save them a little elevation on the first leg if I can. Good thought?

griffith park or river path for the way back or the way there?
I think you could catch the last train since it would give TT a little more than 2 hours - it doesn't take long to ride to Hansen Dam and the way back is faster since it's all downhill. If you are mindful of when you leave then damn you would be plenty fine to catch that train.
I <3 TT!! I've been missing it on account of trying to be a good worker bee on Wed. a.m. I would love it if we rode over to the 818! Cuz 818 has mad love for Tacos too!
needle park? I think you are thinking of somewhere different. I've been going there for half my life. My parents almost got married there, but picked a cozier park - no, it's not a needle park. you might roll thru horse poo on the road that the entrance is on though.
sounds like fun! technically though, 8/4 is sfvcm not tns. no objections from me, but just gotta let everyone know the plan in advance (not everyone on tns checks this forum).
I can only imagine it's a place where dirty drug needles can be found. I am making am assumption, but either way - hansen dam doesn't have a crime issue or anything like that really.
It was late at night on a saturday and people were smoking crack and one guy was tying off. This was like 2 years ago and I havent been there since. Who knows, maybe there was a rainbow gathering that night. It was totally bizarre to see such a remote park so completely full of bums.
YAY my leghs stil may be in recovery mode from my epic century on Saturday.. but im still comin out... andddd in a week or two ill have a new bike.. no more murray!

So, I went on last night's ride, bringing along an old friend who was going on his first mass ride. And he totally bailed, like, no more than 10 minutes in. Fucking lame ass.
But it gave me a reason to meet a lot of great people on this ride, and I tried really hard to remember people's names. So, to Blake, Dre, Jared with the Grateful Dead shirt, Little Lord Fauntleroy (or whatever Dre was calling the redheaded youngin'), Alex, Mike, Andreas, Michael and Geoffrey (sorry if I fucked up anyone's name-spelling), thanks for a great ride! Though I was flying solo tonight, next time you see me I'll prolly be on a purple glowing tandem with my teammate KT, so give a shoutout to your boy Ryan.
Oh, and though I wish I'd known a bike with knobby tires would have been beneficial for the dirt portion, what a great route! Thanks, guys!
Sorry about any con-fus-ion, though people would see the postponed heading. Next week will be DTLA, didn't want to have everyone ride Westside to DTLA two days in a row.

holy crap... sick ride. that sucked when everybody got split up with flats though on glenoaks at the bottom of the dam hill.my group didn't know where it was going exactly and we ended up taking glenoaks all the way into freakin glendale before me found magnolia and got back to cahuenga.. talk about going miles out of our way. still awesome
Sick-ass-friggin'-ride. Going over the pass was fun - so we had, like, 3 distinct groups at least? Ours took glenoaks until it turned due east, then south onto san fernando all the way around the east side of griffith park. Not bad, only the one trifling hill on los feliz but i was pretty delirious at that point. I don't remember how i got up it...following some chocolate bunnies and suddenly I was at the top.

I can't believe I made it home. Last night, when I fell back on my bed when arriving, I have never before appreciated having such a comfortable bed in my life!
Route was crazy, but after the dam, my buddy and I sped up too much and ended up following the wrong group. We turned around and found 3 others that were looking for westsidazz. We were lost for a good hour until we miraculously found the group again. It was seriously a feeling equivalent to being saved by the army in a crazy crisis. Haha! But damn, that hill up glenoaks near burbank (not sure if the rest of the group took this but our seperated group did) was freaking nuts, My legs were jello!

I found some keys that got left behind on the taco tuesday ride. aug-11-09.
they were left at cinco deamyo or however the hell you spell it. the taco place on
sepulveda and washington.
they have a blue canon lanyard with a midnight ridazz badge, kyptonite bike lock key on them, and some other keys.

Yo XL I am going to call you becuase most likely I am going to have to meet up with you guys later on in the ride. So that way I can get where you are all at and or where you are all going to be this way I can meet you all there.
yes, yes, yes, I understand..... but please understand that Taco Tuesdays is a weekly ride with the "Classic Ride" as the main route that lets beginners be able to join us in semi-local ride area and not get lost(well not get lost as much). If you look at next week's TT, The Terminus of Estas I think you will be more than happy that we are chilling this week. Next week will be an extreme adventure ride, this will be a new route to everyone involved.

I was the one who took a mean spill last week after leaving mustache bridge. Headset failure is a bitch. I ended up breaking my scapula and can't ride for at least a month. This royally sucks!
the ride starts in culver city, and will go west, and probably hit mustache bridge (where ballona creek hits the pacific) and the rose ave. mini pier in venice. easy route, you'll have fun

Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!!! So I am just now almost recovered from the ride..... Hey, has anyone seen my Ass......... I think I left it somewhere on the bike path...lol... totally lost like 3 pounds...
The total Mileage from my house on sepulveda back to my house was 80.43 miles, with 6 hours and 47 minutes of actual ride time... NOW THATS A RIDE!!!!!!

On Aug 18, Taco Tuesday held a Cumbia Ride to help SOC
celebrate the release of the album Summer of Cumbia and the first video
and single 'Taco Tuesdays' The show took place on the Manhattan beach pier at
11pm. The backing tracks were played on El Sabroso's T-mobile side kick, which
was hooked up to a PA on bike. The bike PA had 2 wireless microphone and huge
speakers strapped to the back.
I know its late bet if anyone can please bring fire stuff... TO BURN NOT KICK.... for a camp fire.... Also Bring the Sternos.. The little cans of jell for a SWEET TREAT>>>

Sadly this has to happen because of the lack of responsibility on the part of some of the people who ride with us. Get your supplies before hand, how much does a pack of water balloons cost anyway? I was involved in a crash with a girl, I don't remembered how it happened or much of the night before the crash. I hope she's alright and I feel so bad. I got home and passed out from pain. On my way to the hospital with a swollen shut left eye and a big gash. Oh I wish this never happened....I feel so bad.

Thanks Louisiana....I feel fucking horrible. She's such a sweet girl. I was meaning to get lights for a while and I feel completely responsible. My bike is thrashed, I fractured a rib, I have an orbital fracture on my left eye socket, and got 7 stitches on a long gash on my left eye. We took such a hit that I personally don't remember much. I walked to a pay phone and called my friend who picked me up. Needless to say I will not be riding for a long time, I'm too fucking shaken. I really meant no harm and I should of not gone so fast....FUCK! If there is anything I can do for Sam, anything, my email is raybanfandom@gmail.com. I hope to apologize to her and help out as much as I can. This should not happen....helmets and lights are so important, as well as keeping a straight mind while on a bike. If you are reading this Sam, please send me an email so I can do my part to relieve my guilt by showing you how sorry I feel. I will do anything you say, I feel horrible.

SO PLEASE REMBER>>>>>> we frequently traverse very dark and sometimes treacherous paths and roads... ALWAYS have FRONT AND REAR LIGHTS... Trust me, you will need them and they just might keep you out of the hospital....
OOOOOOHHHHHH and 1 more thing.... WE NEED PEOPLE TO START CHIPPING IN MORE..... It is getting hard to provide the fire materials to keep us warm all by my self... If everyone brings 1 roll of toilet paper and/or a small thing of lighter fluid it would solve the problem...

I just dont get it? People make such a big deal about stealing and tagging on rides. To me if you are on a single speed with no brakes, that is ten times worse than tagging or stealing. You are jeopardizing peoples lives. Its one thing if you want to put your self at risk. But the more and more we see this the more people are going to start getting in accidents they cant avoid because of these idiots. Plus I cant think of any worse image for group rides than city officials and cops knowing there are going to be 17 year olds with major head wounds every time there is a ride!!!

Alright that's it. It's official. I requested off next wednesday because I miss you too much Taco. I will be there with my pants down next Taco Tuesday! It better not be raining. There isn't anywhere else I'd rather spend my birthday at the with my Taco/MoM family.
I have been having Taco Tuesday withdrawals for a while now. Finally a Tuesday is here where I dont have to work or be anywhere else....So excited to ride again!! Nothing shall stand in my way....except that flat I need to fix, lets hope I can get er done before 8pm!!

Last night was such an awesome ride. I just wanna say thank you for giving me one hell of a ride for my last one! Thanks to all the riders I met that helped out in the past, Ill see you guys in a couple of months!
that shit was ridiculous. the guy busted a u turn and almost hit another car in the process to try and run riders over. This is the first time have seen someone go into a fit of rage and go out of their way to try to hurt riders but it's similar although more severe, to the hummer incident. i thought for sure the one kid's bike(he fell off his bike and was not on it) was going to get ran over but luckily it was not. .
the flats.... one of the many things that went on last night. There where a couple flats here and there. luckily there was this one fellow with the floor pump. the cops waiting for us as if they knew we where coming.
Even with all the commotion it was a great ride itself and i thoroughly enjoyed the new locations(to me) that we went to.

yesterday night after taco tuesday, there was an attempted bike jacking!!!
some how my friend got seperated from the big group and was assaulted by a 5'11 male on venice blvd near crankmob park....
Just want to remind you guys to be extra extra careful out there.. That rat bastard didnt get the bike instead he got stompped out!!! straight to the fucking face just like bitches deserve... but maybe you wont be as lucky as he was... Keep ur eyes peeled and stay safe ppl....
Thanks to all for coming out and looking for tsunamis last night. Last night was great but I hope everyone has learned their lesson of NOT shouting negative stuff at the police. They seem to be chill with us as long as we are chill with them. Thank you for NOT doing such things on future rides, it only makes it harder for us to have a fun time :)
@Debut - Wow wtf? At the beginning or end of the night? Sucks either way, gotta be careful out there, but great news on the justice being issued out.

Sick-ass-friggin'-ride. Going over the pass was fun - so we had, like, 3 distinct groups at least? Ours took glenoaks until it turned due east, then south onto san fernando all the way around the east side of griffith park. Not bad, only the one trifling hill on los feliz but i was pretty delirious at that point. I don't remember how i got up it...following some chocolate bunnies and suddenly I was at the top.
