I heard that guy was asking for a route card, but he didn't even have a bike!! I think our law enforcement buddies will like this one.

I hope the pd gets a chuckle out of this one....
Hey, we're inspired by the Toy ride and were thinking that since it is Thanksgiving, we should do some sort of food drive/feeding thing.
I don't know, I was thinking left overs or donating to an institution..
Suggestions welcomed!

I was thinking... we ride through skid row a lot. is there something we can just drop off to the people down there on our own? Like sandwhiches or something? we could build pbnjs or something.

remember there is all sort of folks taking care of the Skid Row folks at this time of Year. Lets do something for those folks, in april or July/august. Sounds silly buy maybe we could bring them ice water. Yes ice water. Could you imagin, how much ice water, the people of skid row get the blistering heat of the summer time. I never lived down there, but probably not alot.

I really like the idea of bringing water to skid row during the hot months.
Maybe we would bring blankets for november?

Definitely stoked for this ride. The doubleheader (LA Critical Mass followed by MR) is always a good time.

What do you guys think of taking blankets down and handing them out at Skid Row? We were thinking of gathering them and taking them at a later point, but I think it would be cool to have everyone hand them out instead.

Will we be going down Broadway between 2nd and 9th? If so and we are lucky enough that the theatres might have them powered up, the beautiful Oprheum, Los Angeles' and Palace neon theatre marquees make fantastic pictures...

Dan, Jeff, and I scouted the ride and it is going to be awesome. We talked to the people at the mission and they are very receptive to us bringing blankets that late to donate. I'm gonna open it so if anyone wants to bring other stuff like clothes...
We made dope spoke cards and those who bring something to donate get a special spoke card.
It's gonna be a good ride, about 18 miles with some extended mild to moderate uphills.
Feel free to contact me if anyone has questions

I'll shave off some pubes and then you can glue them to your upper lip. It works well I've done it before for people.

Let's extend our prosperity to those less fortunate after a day of indulgence and gluttony. Bring warm clothes, blankets, etc. to this ride, and we'll make a stop at the Los Angeles Mission. They were kind and receptive to the idea of a late night donation from crazy cyclists. Besides, it's a great way to burn off some of those Thanksgiving calories.
spiraldemon11.24.06 - 3:01 pm

I wish I had been able to take in some of those calories . . . the last few days laid me low with a stomach bug, so my Thanksgiving dinner consisted of a small can of peaches.
I'm severely bummed that I won't be able to make the ride tonight; don't think I can quite muster the strength yet. Great idea for a ride with a cause. My best wishes for a good & safe one.

Sorry I missed the ride guys, I got to the train station ahead of time, only to watch the fucker rollin out of the station. The one time it's early... grr.
Meh, it's probably for the best, my knee hurts, cause I rode into the side of a dumpster yesterday (d'oh!), and just the ride back up the hill was enough to make it start to get stiff, guess I'll just let it rest.
