WALK the Hyperion Bridge

Lets go for a walk on the Hyperion bridge and see the possibilities.
NOTE: The walk starts at 10AM Sunday at the Mullholland Fountain at Riverside Dr. and Los Feliz Blvd.
Facebook has a daylight savings time bug that keeps changing the time. Clocks get adjusted on Saturday night, so just show up at 10:00AM after you've adjusted your clock.
The beautiful Hyperion Bridge between Silverlake and Atwater is threatened by plans to rebuild it as a 55-MPH structure; this iconic bridge would be retrofitted minus the south sidewalk and with no bike lanes, a change that's absolutely inappropriate for the kind of neighborhood scale we rely on to make Big Parade events happen.
This short walk features a Griffith Park segment, where we'll be over the bridge; a half-dozen stairways and passages; and a finish at the bridge with a presentation on this structure's future. It will be a great walk even if you care about none of this—but you do care, right?

PRE-WALK DETAILS:
- We meet at 10:00AM at the Mullholland Fountain, at the southwest corner of Riverside Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard. We will walk about six miles, first into Griffith Park (uphill!) so we can get a good overview of the river; then we'll be touring some of the newer and lesser-known parks—including the new North Atwater Park—along the LA River before we descend along the riverbank for a double-crossing of the Hyperion Bridge. The walk is a loop; we should be arriving at the bridge at around noon (times are approximate) to hear some speakers and discuss development plans for the bridge.

I don't care.
They should have one those hot wheel contraptions that shoots the cars across the bridge real fast.
Then I can start a junk yard and auto body shop on both sides of the bridge.
