Every Tuesday: BMX Tuesdays!
We get together and ride our bmx bikes. Get there by 7pm, we leave by 7:15. We don't wait for laggers, so DON'T BE LATE!!! RAIN CANCELLES. We usually go to some spot for grub that's a few miles away. And we RIDE. This is not a few block cruise or some hipster ride with beer stops, we don't stop unless one of us breaks down. Usually a 2-3 hour or so affair. Strongly recommend a 24" or 26 bmx cruiser as we like to keep up the pace but you can roll on a 20" if you've got the legs. We gladly welcome new school bikes and of course love the vintage rides. Bring lights, tools, tubes, pump, etc so you don't hang up the whole ride with a flat. The ride is fun paced but you'll need to keep up, be sure that you do. We ride under every condition except rain, which cancels. We're not trying to exclude but you'll need a bmx bike of some sort (we're ok with converted bikes, Schwinns with box bars etc.), But with the exception of fixed gear bike we really don't care (they have enough rides). We're going for a theme and that theme is bmx. Cool heads, that vintage rig was meant to be ridden, not hung up on a wall! Let's ride!!!
We want all years of bikes, if you don't have a vintage one, that's fine by us.
Bicycle Swap Meet.
Free to show up, free to sell your stuff. Mini bike, go karts stuff fine too. 8 am to noon. I share a parking lot with a popular bar so get there early to set up as the space is limited to about 10-20 spaces. Spaces are limited to one per person or group and are on a first come, first serve basis. Bring your own tables, change and chairs. Convince store across the street, the bar has pub grub...Last time I had about 15-20 vendors and loads of people passing through all day. I have about 20 crates full of bike parts, 1000's and 1000's of things, I pull the contents of my used parts storage out and you can have at it. Bring your stuff, no matter how little you have. You never know who's looking to buy. Feel free to take the flyer and re-post it elsewhere.
Sellers: Please note that if you expect top dollar (ebay dollars) for your bikes expect to take them home unsold. This is a bargain hunters meet and you should have a good selection of things that you're willing to sell for cheap as well as high end and collectable stuff. Just some fyi....
Also I get people coming in and calling all the time wanting me to do the swapmeet more. The answer is no for many reasons:
1. I don't want to.
2. I have to get there at 6:30 am and stay until 5 pm, it's a long day for me. I get grouchy.
3. Doing it more often would make it less fun and I could do it every month and then get burned out and not do it at all. I do a lot of events on my time and dime and people need to respect that and not be greedy with what I am willing to give. The swap is free and I want nothing in return, can you find this anywhere else? No. Then don't push your luck.
4. I forego a day of trail riding to do this, to me that's a big sacrifice.
5. Being grinded for a 2 dollar part all morning is so fun that I can only take it twice a year.
6. People don't follow directions. They hog more than one spot, they don't bring change. The drunks complain next store. People park in the alley, then the neighbors complain. So there is a bit of a headache for me, once again dealing with such problems every month would be pushing my luck with people I have to share space with everyday, and mutual burn out would be the inevitable outcome.
7. The goal is to have fun, I make a few bucks but if I'm not having fun then it's a no-go. I hope you understand. Be grateful for what you have. Your logistical issues, conflicting dates with other events/swaps you showing up late is YOUR PROBLEM. Yes, I don't care.
Choppercabras
My most venerable event, going on 14 years... Bicycle silliness. Demo derbies, tall bikes, other things. The events are wild to say the least. Then a bike ride, then I feed you. Yes it's free. Twice a year, takes months to make and moments to destroy.
Coaster Brake Challenge
The Challenge is held twice a year on four Sundays in a row. Single speed, coaster brake only, no hand brakes, no gears. Off road racing in a point format where the highest scoring rider after 4 races wins the series. For fairly avid trail riders but all are welcome, some come out to win and most come out to finish. 20 dollar entry fee gets you entry to all four races, a t-shirt, a patch, and some other stuff. Give aways and food at the end. You need not feel pressured to make all of them but make one! Usually 20-30 participants, the action is real.
Coaster Brake Only, Single Speed Only, No Hand Brakes MTB race series.

See pics to get an idea. Great fun!
Bomb Squad
Downhill rally on 16” kids bikes.
Rules of play:
Your bike must have 16” wheels and must be in a stock configuration. No upgrades except the addition
of brakes may be added. No other upgrades or altering of stock equipment including tires may be made to
the bikes. You can of course adjust
your seat/stem/bars/brakes to your liking, not like it will help. We want to avoid an escalation of riders
throwing money into bikes that should cost no more than ten dollars. Your bike should be a bike that can be easily replaced and will often be adorned with cartoon characters or images of pre-teen pop stars, in other words: junk.
You are also responsible for your protective gear, helmets are mandatory, and everything else is
encouraged.
We will be going down hill in masse; bike handling skill and a lack of self-preservation are paramount in
this endeavor.
Meet point and time TBA. I have loaners......
Hacktacular
BMX side hack races. Bikes must be on 20" wheels. We did a downhill course last time, next one will be a moto cross style course. Meet at the shop and ride to the course. Helmets are mandatory, everything else is encouraged. You will get hurt!
I am The Ninja
Meet at the shop. ride to the battle ground. Utilizing foam swords and Shurikens, do battle with each other on your bikes, may the mightiest Ninja prevail! This is a night ride.
Do I need a disclaimer?
You may have fun. (up to you)
You will get hurt.
You have a great event idea? Great! Go do it then!
Thanks!
