My last long ride was back in March, and this time I broke my previous one day record of 114 miles, by riding 120 miles in just under 12 hours. But this ride was especially meaningful as it was done to raise money for Leukemia research at City of Hope, where my brother had his bone marrow transplant almost three years ago.
I dedicated the ride to him. I am happy to say that we not only hit our original target goal of $1,000 in donations, but surpassed it by more than $500. I was lucky to get a couple of major TV news stations, NBC New and ABC 7 Eyewitness news, to cover my solo event, which no doubt helped to get the word out about the very worthy cause.
I made a video "diary" of my ride, which was shot almost entirely in the saddle, while riding! One of the news segments is at the very end. Hope you enjoy
