Chased a Bike Thief

FUCK!
A few minutes ago I was at jack in the box, at vineland and strathern in the valley..
As i was going in, I noticed a white mountain bike just chillen outside by the side entrance...I noticed it wasnt locked and thought to myself, "That's not smart."
...So i went in...(took my bike in)..ordered..and sat down..
..some guy was sitting in the table in front of me and said, "that's weird, there was a bike outside right now and now its gone..and i think it belonged to someone."
so next thing, some guy stood up...and ran outside (it was his bike)...by that time i was putting my order into my messenger bag..and realized what i had to do..
..i asked some random people if they saw someone with a white mountain bike and pointed towards a parking lot. With my fixie...i mashed down across the street and started looking for the bike. I was frantically biking around the whole area, but no white mountain bike in sight...
i met up with the owner of the bike 5 minutes later....it turned out he was mute...couldnt talk....
...his bike was nowhere to be seen..............

Sounds like bullshit. It was your buddies from k-town that jacked it and your just covering it up by acting like you tried to help. How much was your cut by the way?

Sadly more people need to lock the bikes correctly.
I saw a friend of mine the other day lock her front wheels spokes with a U-lock. Only the spokes. I wanted to bang my head against the wall.
on the up side, the more easy bikes there are to steal in LA the most likely they will pass by the bikes locked correctly.

I live near that jack-in-the-box. The area is not to nice, but I dont think there are a lot of bike thieves. The park is very near too, and maybe the thief could be hiding there. Anyways, thanks for doing the right thing.

i went to the park.. i asked the people there who always chill with their bikes but they said that they didnt see anyone.. i dont trust them
..but its too late...
i feel so fucked up..
i should just dropped my order and chased the guy... that mountain bike couldnt of had gone far... but fuck...
i feel so fucken bad for the guy.. he was homeless... someone had given him a sandwich inside jack ..fuck

props for helping the guy out. That was probably one of his only possessions. Hopefully he can get a replacement somewhere.

I was at trader joes yesterday and someone had looked thier bike to a shopping cart. And there was plenty of poles and stuff to use.

Hey at least you tried to help the guy out. damn, that's sucks for the guy who got his bike jacked though, i know I would be super pissed if someone jacked my bike.
