Den Dinner:
Everyone is invited, though in order to attend you must bring a food or drink to share with the rest.
The Main Course is decided by the Host. Everyone is encouraged to make (or buy) anything and everything they want for the dinner.
This is an RSVP event - Please let us know here in the thread if you will be coming, WHAT you will be bringing and HOW MANY guests. If you find out last second you can make it, it's ok, come on down. We just need the RSVP list so we know how many to cook for.
Den Dinner starts at 8pm unless otherwise stated and a jam session will surely commence at various points throughout dinner.
It's over when you leave or get kicked out.

Den Dinner is this wednesday. Do we have a volunteer? If not, then it will be hosted at the Joose Box with an emphasis on Joosey foods.
Yum! how do cubz feel about joooo ceeee veggie burgers? Yes, i know veggie burgers are not usually juicy... that actually sounds kinda gross... but these will be good! I swear!

This was the first dinner to make my ears ring. They still are.
Lowercase vegans rock and so do upPERCASE CUBZZ.
EVERYONE! Thanks for bringing and leaving us with awesome food and memories!!! And for discovering (to me) that we have a garbage disposal. That was the best and largest Den Dinner yet! That ride was stoopid fun! Not-a-through-street LOVE to you all!

SOY-FLAVORED BACON
Richie-When youre done sleeping in (!!!!) while Mommie's bringing home the bacon, take some pictures of the aftermath- especially the broken glass on the played out stove and the condom wrapper on the floor.
-What?
Yeah, the condom wrapper on the floor.
Whoever used it (did I?)~ if for some reason it broke or failed, and someone got pregnant, you will allow The Cubcamp toname it. Den Dinner Ordinance 321113-312.
Thanks for having everyone over too, Richie.
HEY! Wait, I live there too, guys!
As exciting as getting naked and arrested while there is freezing rain, in Piazza Santa Maria de Trastevere, sounds I think I'll wait until I get back to LA to be arrested for blasphemy. It was great seeing you all, the continent of Europe cannot compete with Midnight Ridazz.
haha, great night.
Franz is watching, sharecuts, refrigerator bass, ginger the dog, too many harmonicas, not a thru street crew, 7-11 won't sell us beer, no cheese in the cheese, massage line, mini rides around a mini track, and all the other insanity, damn.. that was a good night, with plenty of good food.

DEN DINNER IS EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY
That means this...follow me now...
...Say a Den Dinner was last Wednesday, take that date. Then count 14 days into the future. If that day happens to be Wednesday (most likely it will), ITS A DEN DINNER DAY! Yay!
NEXT DINNER IS DECEMBER 12, 2007. ITS A WEDNESDAY.
although there is nothing that i can cook that is vegan/vegetarian. I would require a vegan or vegetarian to sit down with me to teach me what has comparable tastes and textures to make something they could eat.
Jared, feel free to cook and bring whatever you want!
There are plenty of people who eat meat who will appreciate your contribution. And don't worry, I won't be offended if there's meat in my house, I'm not crazy like that.
ok if i am to do this i will need someone to volunteer to pick me up and drive me and a pot of gumbo to ridgeway, cause thats what i will make. i live close by. but i have no ride cause i totaled my shit over the thanksgiving holiday.
not gonna commit 2 cooking unless someone can shuttle me there.
Now will somebody tell me where it is, or can I be escorted with rich to the i e in the trailer. Look, I understand if it is only for the cool crowd. I was just saying.....
As i understand it, Mr ie has a ride (in a motorized vehicle) from someone already and the location is on Ridge Way at Mixtemotions. Don't know the actual address yet.
We still have 2 days to figure that puzzle out.
Remember this is a 'BIg Easy' flavored Den Dinner so think of it as a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. (Churchill quote)
It's very close to where we found YES CONE! Plenty of bike parking (obvs!) and not so much car parking.... so if you're driving tell me so I can tell you what I know!
typically good non-food items to bring are beerzz, desserts, condiments (depending on the theme), and plates/silverware. there's also been a couple times where there's enough food and good old cash works!
I am coming, i thought i was riding with Richie and Kathryn...? if not, no big deal.
Anyone car pooling around 7:30? Or biking out, I'm not really feeling like another lone cross town ride. I may just drive my self out, but if I can I'd like to avoid it.
Den Diner was fantastic, great to see everyone
Franzy, Richie healthy and alive, Daks brother whom I had never met before, Nicole Tyler and Roomates thanks for haviing us all at your home. Very cool place btw. Zuchinni, and Jojos were my favorite, and that soup Fuzz was just amazing. See you all tomorrow, great jamming. Nice spoke cards Mar.cooose.
Yes, it was a festive evening. Thanks for hosting! We need to incorporate more musical instruments into our sessions. I'm sure some of you still have a clarinet or something in your closets from 4th grade!
And what was that creepy purple little baby thing with bumps all over its head? I hope that's not your Toy Drive gift- you''ll scare every good little girl and boy.
Simply A-Maze-ING!! I <3 Cubz, and big thanks to our hosts at Ridgeway. Great food, unexpected surprise guest, best jam session ever, chalk drawing spectacular, Yes! So awesome!
yay ragin' cajun's!!!
thanks for hosting dinner, ridge way.
classic moments:
franz' homecoming.
prepetual wall of chalk drawings.
trumpet, sax, improvised instruments, musical jamz.
stinky double team by the double D's.
and last but not least...
princess droppin' a deuce in the middle of the living room!
Thanks again for hosting and that was a great theme. Everyone made something really delicious. Enjoy the leftovers (if any)!!! These dinners really make this culture seem special, I will remember all these nights for years to come!
jams, poop, dongs, vegans, furniture-drumming, (alcohol) monkeys...there seems to be a reoccuring theme here... Also what a good turnout! See you guys tonight...????!!! HMMMMMM!!?!?!?!?!
I cant wait for Franz to come back home! Let us know as soon as you book a flight!
Also SUPER SPECIAL THANKS to all that helped with the spoke-card-color-jam-session! I hope you get to see one of yours on someone's wheel one day and go "Yeah, The Toy Ride was ok, but the Cajun Den Dinner rocked!" and then start howling incessantly!
Last night was so fun. Thanks to all who brought food, especially the shrimp rice and the steamed veggies! I think I ate a whole container load of green beans and carrots. Coloring was rad too!
I got faced, having to schlep a twelve-pack up every single hill because I made that dumb turn on Kensington from Douglas!
I too just passed the cajun to the underworld. I made it good.
Thanks for letting me eat your food despite being hockey stinky and wearing hammer pants. And thanks to the Ridge Way Tren Ways for hosting!!! Nice to mee a lot of you I've never met or at least properly met... OOOOooH! OoH! OOooH!
Someone left a snazzy northface windbreaker thingie at Ridge Way... claim it or it becomes part of my layerz for tonight! (I'll bring it to Cubcamp just in case the rightful owner doesn't see this in time!) ;P
Nicole! Jannatha left her coat over at your place also (the one you just posted about is not hers). Her's is white, "sort of a peacoat thingy
missing a button".
Yup, I was the princess who dropped the deuce in the middle of the living room....I was soo excited for coloring in spoke cards before leaving...I love your soup Fuzzbeast
Yeah mads props to the host(s/esses)...damn english. Was great to see so many of you two nights in a row - hopefully i'll see more of you on the next cubcamp! Also, maybe next time i can bring some proper instruments to the jam...though the improvisational ones were pretty 'rad' as well
I'm basically looking for an excuse to have something at my place, since it has, as yet, not had anything resembling a housewarming, and as of Jan 1, I finally have furniture to sit on and such.
Katie's mumblings about crawfish etouffee make me think a cajun/creole theme might be in order, though I prefer to keep the crawfish thing to a minimum - what can I say, I grew up in a kosher household...never developed a taste for it. But there's always this
I guess I can host this week. I thought it was already slated for somewhere else this week, so my intent wasn't actually for this week, but other than the inconvenience of having to hit the grocery store after work tomorrow instead of getting it done over the weekend, I don't have a problem with it.
I'm going to have to think on a theme while I am at the movies tonight, cause I've got to run. I may take the easy out and go for pasta/italian.
650 n. grand is actually open for den dinner. i don't know what dan is smoking but i'm sure he'll share with all of you. do we want to change locations or let this roll on as planned?
Well, I'm happy to do up a meat and a veggie lasagna, garlic bread, and lay on some beverages for an italian themed night at my place, but I'll leave it to others to make the call on final location.
OK, since no one else is, I'm calling it. My house this week, Italian theme. I'll be doing up one meat and one veggie lasagna, but unless someone wants to offer up a recipe for a vegan lasagna (in place of veggie), the vegans are gonna have to fend for themselves. Unless Whole Foods has a pre-made vegan lasagna, in which case, I'll totally buy that.
There's a Whole Foods on the way to my place from the westside (corner of Fairfax and Santa Monica) and a trader joes not too far out of the way (SM and Poinsettia, I think) if folks want to buy things on the way over, and if anyone wants to come early and do some cooking at my place, I'll be home at 6pm but can get there sooner if someone would like me to.
I'll make sure to have various forms of pasta on hand (and don't worry, vegans, I dated one of you for 4 years, so I know how to read an ingredients list), and I'll do up garlic bread with olive oil and garlic rather than butter.
Do you normally leave the den dinner info in this thread or do like the xmas dinner and make a new thread with the formal announcement/invitation?
THANKS SAM!!
i won't be able to go unfortunately, i will meet you at Cubcamp???
The first Dinner ever was loosely Italian themed, and there was like 12 people in Franz' closet-sized, steamroom kitchen. Franz's homemade hefeweizen and baked ziti, my mushrooms and asparagus, beer galore, and Gary's (mom on the) phone! oh man its been a fast 4.5 months!!!
beer is good. There are liquor stores on Santa Monica as you get close to my place, so no need to carry beer far if you are coming by bicycle. Next time I do this, I'll have to brew up 5 gallons of homebrew.
1.kyber & cubcakes- vegan lasagna, vegan garlic sour dough bread (we made it last night, it's soo much better than french bread), & vegan fudgey wudgey blueberry brownies.

Oh, and if my chocolate cake was popular (and it seemed to be), I can make that vegan really easily, so long as folks don't mind eating margarine. I've never figured out a butter substitute other than margarine. But really, what are a few trans fats between friends, eh?
If any of you westsiders are going to be coming be car, I have a friend who is visiting Venice from Bellingham who would like to come, but has no transport to get over here. I'd love to find him a ride.
Give me a call at 415

dan changed his mind about vegan dessert. sorry brendan and kathryn (and other vegans)! if i don't eat all the olives and capers tonight, i'm bringing olive tapenade and bruchetta.
BunnyBubbles, does that mean there won't be those delicious brownies this time?
I've got vegan dessert in hand. I picked up Soy Milk and Vegan spread for my chocolate cake. now I just have to find the time to make it, but I'll manage.
I did a mondo grocery session tonight and picked up the following:
Lasagna stuff for veggie and plain
Some vegan pasta and vegan garlic-marinara sauce
Carrots, celery, and chipotle-ranch dip. Forgot to get Hummous, though I intended to, so someone could definitely bring that for the vegan folks.
crackers, brie, and various salamis
milk, various juices
olive oil, garlic
Of course, I've got vodka, scotch, and a few bottles of red wine on hand, but no beer and no soda at this point.
Things that would be good to have:
vegan hummous
bread for garlic bread. Everything in the stores at 9pm was stale
a vegan entree
beer
beer
ice - I don't own ice cube trays yet and the store was out of them
brownies desserts
beer
anything else anyone wants to bring, italian or not
OK, so scratch the vegan entree entry. But vegan stuff is good because everyone can eat it, whereas the meat stuff has a limited audience, so the more vegan stuff the better, as far as I'm concerned.
Haha suckers, I was away the whole day looking for bikes to chop up and yet still no one volunteered to bring the garlic bread. Ah well, I call garlic bread, however I'm only bringing two so if you think we need more bring some. I love Italian-American food!
I'm inviting a vegan guest, so there will be one more among us. She will be bringing vegan side dish items, and I'm thinking of bringing polenta and tomato sauce.
Is anyone missing stuff that may have been left at my house? I know i have some of Franz's clothes and erock's shoes which i will bring tonight, but i also have some jackets, and other miscellaneous stuff.
stickers and magnets Samwitchezzz!!1 =) that sounds like dessert RRH! I'm feelin' desserty too, I think I'm gonna bring some cannoli, they are yummm but certainly not vegan. lo siento, mi amores!!
i'm making chocolate peanut butter brownies, but they aren't vegan. i didn't have time to get all the ingredients needed to make them vegan. sorry vegan friends, next time i'll try to accommodate you better.
whoo hoo, i have a purpose! ice cube trays. and cups. and...gelato? to go with the dessert! yeah! i'm so excited!!! oh, and i think I'll bring another surprise...inspired, as often, by ashira.
Someone asked what time. I had assumed that we always did the gather at 8, eat at 9 thing. I'm heading home early to prep, so anyone who wants to come earlier is welcome to, though depending upon what time you arrive, I may put you to work ;-)
Is it just me, or did that article basically say that we need to eat more meat, preferably in large chunks ripped off the bone with our teeth, in order to keep ourselves from evolving into a race of weak-chinned, crooked-toothed rat-faced beings?
Hey BunnyBubbles, what time are you driving out? Would you have room for me and my bike (so I can leave separately). I was going to catch a ride with Stevo, but he is leaving early to respond to a craigslist post, and I get out of work latish and need to prepare a couple things before leaving.
I may bike out, but I need to heat up some things on location, and would prefer to not carry pots or pans. Will there be an extra sauce pan & frying pan, along with space on the stove that I could use?
Between Gardner and Sierra Bonita on Willoughby, which is two blocks south of Santa Monica Blvd. Just roll up SM Blvd and hang a right on Sierra Bonita and a left on Willoughby and then look for the russian sidecar motorcycle on your left. That's my house.
There's a liquor store or 3 on SM Blvd between Fairfax and Sierra Bonita if anyone is looking to bring beverages.
Oh, and there's a guitar, bass, keyboard, and harmonicas in various keys (ewww. Sharing harps doesn't sound like a good idea, so maybe I'll play those) available for playing, though I don't know what the neighbours will tolerate. I haven't done that to them, yet.
Thanks for hosting your first Den Dinner last night. I don't know who made the tomato based meat lasagna but it was awesome! Thanks also for the Eazy E and the Nick Hornby Book. Good seeing everyone and meeting a few new ones. Oh, sorry, New Persons. ;-)
i have no idea what that food was on the table, but i see i have to learn about it, thanks Sam, foods not really something that I've ever taken pleasure in, seems I'm kinda "rough around the edges" I EAT BECAUSE I HAVE TO, LOL.
Den Dinner, my house (see above for map).
Main course (pancakes) will be provided by me. You bring everything else. Cooking space is ample, but let me know if you need it.

I can bring bacon, but I can't yet commit to being there for sure. Oon the other hand, you can't really have too much bacon, so someone else can volunteer, too.
Since you and I are both bringing eggs to cook, I think we should both bring a dozen and then mix/match depending on what people want to do with them (the obvious choice being to use them for the Huevos Rancheros that I will have partly pre-prepared)
did you buy eggs yet? if not, don't. i just bought a gazillion of them because they were a good deal, so you can just chip in with me. if you did buy eggs, let me know, and i won't bring all my eggs.

Word up to the Under the Table crew as well and to the

Nicole-glad to see you're doing better and Steve you're a trooper good to see you're in one piece...
Brassknuckle and Apple thanks for the ride offer last night, we really enjoyed our ride under the clear skies and slick roads esp. Kings Road onto Willoughby.
Annie if you happen to read this: we miss you and want you to come and join us with your blue bike.
Thanks for hosting Den Dinzz Sp00k! YUMMM!! Under Table Crew was so fun! And the food was hella good! The huevos rancheros and the BB brownies w/ MM mangos were my favorites! And cutest pets ever.... even the cat that bitch slapped me.
katakatakaka: burapbapbapskimmiiiiillk! thanks! i was going to go, but got distracted by the 'yesterdog' documentary and a game of chess. i was really looking forward to breakfast.
In all seriousness, how does milk and cheese play into your diets? If i were to make, say, grilled cheese sandwiches (which is listed as a good choice of food with calcium) would most or any vegetarians eat that? I'm sure Vegans wouldn't but i'm trying to gage what calcium rich foods would appeal to the most number of people. How about say, Mac & cheese?
There are a number of rich calcium sources that are non dairy. In fact the best calcium sources are non-dairy, especially when calcium absorption is factored.
Some examples are most dark leafy greens (except spinach, which has calcium but has enzymes that prevent it's absorption), sesame seeds, almonds, and various other nuts, many types of beans, figs, tofu (with calcium as solidifying ingredient). Also, 1 cup of the rice like grain, quinoa, has more calcium then a cup of milk.
I find that CDC list a little odd in that almost everything is listed as a different portion. Like yogurt is 1 cup, but tofu half a cup, making it look like it's half as much daily value, when in fact they are are similar value. And the seeds (especially sesame), which are some of the most calcium rich foods that exist, are listed as a table spoon, making them appear much lower on the list. Who eats one spoon of seeds and calls it a day.
Here is a chart with calcium and other nutrient qualities listed in order of calcium levels for some different foods, with a 100g serving of each. Data extracted from USDA database.
I used to make a pretty damn good Kale soup (vegan). I haven't made it in years, and I'll need to buy a food processor (something I need, anyway), but I'm going to try to bring that. Only question is if I can figure out a way to carry soup on a bicycle or motorcycle. Takes 3 hours to make, so no chance I can make it there.
If I can't pull that off, maybe I'll take a stab at my mom's tuna casserole - it is midwestern home cooked fast food at its finest, and I'm pretty sure there's some calcium in there, too.
All you need to carry the soup is a rack and a big plastic container with a lid. I was able to pick up a set of 3L containers with lids at a 99 cent store a few months back.
I use it when I make sauces, soups, and chilis in large quantities. The lids are pretty sturdy but you might want to seal the sides with a nice strip of packing tape or something. Then just toss it in your bag or put it on your rack and you're good to go.
mercury is fun. Besides, canned light tuna is actually considered a low mercury fish - equivalent to shrimp and salmon and such. Besides, what's a little psychosis, hallucinations, and tremors amongst friends?
sam-- kale or tuna
moondance--egg salad
spiral -- beer and smoking
stevo -- broccoli or some kinda veggies
bb-- bbb
spook -- oj and tbd
dan:ice cream
erock: cops
mike: ice cream or kale or both
me -- possibly grilled veggies
If I'm coming, I'm not cooking, that's for sure. I've got a work thing that starts at 7pm tonight. I can shop, though. Beer, weed, ice cream, etc. You get my drift. I'm open to suggestions, otherwise I'm bringing Tecate.
Stevestevesteve! I am still coming! However, because of my ankle, I'll be driving. Do you have any suggestions on where to park around your place? Also, I'm going to stop at Smart&Final on my way over and get some mystery food.
If anyone wants a ride over (or needs me to take over their food) from the BRW area, let me know.
potatoes! i'll bring those too. i swear i'm not lying, i've a bag lying on my counter that the apes gave to me.
those have lots of calcium, right? I mean, aren't potatoes good for everything?!
ooo...you know what we have in Idaho...baked potatoes with icecream. so, here's the plan. I come over, make home fries, and plop a scoop and some gummies on top.
oh yeah, and e-rock, if you're not bringing the "cops", who's going to strip? (Franz, we've seen enough.) The only uniform I have is a cheerleader's outfit. Could you use that?
our oven doesn't work so frozen isn't going to be an option, sorry
hey spook
parking is kind of a bitch, you can either find street parking or pay to park at a lot but I don't know when they close, i think you can probably do OK street parking though
all you suckers can't handle yo whiskey?!!! actually, let's limit ourselves to happy drunk= 2 shots. I'd do it all over again for ya babes. Thanks Steve, Joe and Katie!
Violet Spangle was her name. But V. Spangle, V-Span, Vrrspangle, Vsp Angle are all applicable, I think. Oh, yes, and, Michele is the name my parents gave me.
I think we do it at the site of the very first den dinner, Franz's former apt on pacific. there is a patio there with a bbq we can use.

anyway, there will be no more conflicts between Bikerowave's Movie Night and Cubcamp's Den Dinner after this week. Den Dinner will be on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays and Movie Night will be on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.
damn you kieron. i bought 4 cans of spam. no way i'm eating that shit, so it is coming to bikerowave for den dinner. kieron, you are eating a whole can of it yourself.
the nice thing about spam is that it NEVER goes bad, so, you could actually save it for the real Hawaiian feast that should happen some time before the next solar eclipse...
try this:
boil thinly sliced/diced spam and poached egg with your ramen,
or fry sliced spam with your eggs over lots of steamed rice.
perfect for those who are on a budget
K.,
Does someone need to bring plates/utensils/handwarmers to heat the food? given you all are so well equipped over there for hearty feasting?
MIXTEMOTIONS,
did you save your chef's hat and apron? they can be repurposed! (And you better come to this one! It's been like three months!)
EVERYONE
the toaster oven successfully cooked two frozen pizzas last time, so bring things in toasterovenable containers to heat (ahead of time, of course, so they can cool and be reheated-cooled-reheated-cooled-reheated like proper cafeteria food.)
in the spirit of lunch ladydom everywhere im going to try to bring some tiny milks on a tray for all you kiddos to drink..some maybe chocolate some maybe regular..if i can find them in time.
Is anyone going to bring mashed potatoes, macaroni salad and/or general cafeteria gruel (not counting the spam)?
Also, can someone please bring plates? Unless you want to eat out of the degreaser dishes at Bikerowave I think it's probably a good idea. I have some plastic cutlery and some cups that I'm bringing.
Well, Massages after 7pm anytime this week would be nice, but more importantly...
DON'T LEAVE US!!!! With you and Richie leaving the Westside, i feel a big gaping hole (a lot bigger than E-rock's little pea hole ;-) in my heart with you going to the East side. Its just not the same!!!
WESTSIDE IS A STATE OF MIND
If I miss a Cubcamp, and I am in LA Surrounding Area, I will move to somewhere west of the 405, north of the 90, south of Sunset.
i'm bummed i think i have to miss out. i have to drive LB to pick up a road bike i got off craigslist..it's a good deal so she better still have it when i get there..
as vspangle already mentioned, no spam tonight. For those that have seen the disaster that is my room, you'll understand why. Tonight is cleaning night. Yes, I've lived at Grand since October and have yet to unpack or put anything away. All I did was dump all my boxes on the floor of my room when i got there. It's gotten progressively worse, and I'm sick of climbing over things to get to my bed and losing everything that i need. So have fun at den dinner, and hopefully the next time people crash here, there will be a little more floor space.

Or anything else that you'd like to bring.
I'll have some soda, but you'll need to bring the beer.
Please post what you'll be bringing to avoid too many duplicates.
Ok, i've got the 8' Palm Tree now in my living room ready to go.
I'll provide 4 Lau Lau's for people to share and try. Really yummy as long as you eat pulled pork. I'll also provide Rice, soda and all plates/napkins/utensils. And Hawaiian Music. Long Live Brudda IZ.
We got King Hawaiian Bread from E-rock and Tecate beer from Spiral. Richie? Others? What you say? Spook, just bring appetite.
i'm bringing poi and alcohol. maybe some non-hawaiian munchies if i come across anything good. let me know if you need me to bring something in particular. see you tomorrow!!
It does look like it may rain later. If you will still be riding bikes here, there are overhangs in the courtyard to keep your bikes dry(er). I can even provide some rags to dry your bike off if you want.
I was originally going to drive up to deliver orders from king's hawaiian for stevo **BUT** my car's tire has a bulge and I'm concerned of it blowing out.. to make matters worse I'm *trying* to rehab my knee and would prefer not biking up (for the sake of my health and the food...)
SO, if anyone can help me get up to stevo's I'd really appreciate it...
Joe/Stevex3. we're open til 12a (sorry work in the morning) so swing by wheneva.
E-rock, i'll call around and see if anyone delivers from the local HI places on the Wside as a backup plan. Also, what about using your spare tire til Friday?
Idiots . . . I would have the 666 post, but my connection died. Then e-rock, idiot, doesn't even appreciate that he has the 666 post and just blathers on about some garbage.
E-rock - we have some serious beef. I think there is going to have a race . . .
E-rock - what's wrong with your knee man? I've some experience with this shit - 8 years of competitive running with knees being my most frequent recurring injury, and surgery. Let's talk about it.
e-rock i can give you a lift. i get home around 7 and i should be ready around 7:15-7:30 to leave my place (i'm at venice blvd and centinela). i have no idea where you are or need to be, but if this works, let me know the info.
Brassknuckles isn't coming so no spam unless someone else brings it.
Tomato, as a last resort if the E-rock hook up doesn't happen, i could have an order ready for p/up in Culver City on Washington and Inglewood for you to grab for me.
i can get e-rock and get food...but where is the food at (in torrance or by me)? i found directions to you eric so that's fine- hopefully there won't be much traffic by the time i get on the road- which i don't think there will be.
just give more info re: the food location
If you can get Eric, then we are probably fine. I was just thinking ahead if he couldn't make it. If you find that you are way ahead of schedule, i could arrange for one more small pickup but its not really necessary.
Hey stevo I locked my wallet in Dans house last night. I can bring a bag of jasmine rice. I have 2 dollars on me so maybe I can pick up a can of pineapple do you have any soy? The rice is pretty good when seasoned with pineappe and soy. Is there anyway I could show up 30 minutes early and cook it, sorry I don't have access to a stove.
Franz, no prob. I'll be here. I've made some sushi rice in advance but the pineapple/soy mix sounds real good too. And i do have a brandy new bottle of Kikoman's.
Sushi recipe is as simple as this picture. Get one of each at Najiya on Sawtelle. The rice is a short grain sushi rice and the vinegar is for sushi rice. Fluff(er) up the rice when its done and sprinkle on the vinegar and mix it in with a fork. That's it. Tastes great.
