I think people just got too busy to commit to putting an entire ride together (I know I did). However, I'd be willing to share duties with anyone who wants to get it going again.
I would recommend having it on the traditional fourth friday of the month, though, as July 6 conflicts with RideArc, and to a lesser extent, the SM Critical Mass.

so okay july 6, 2007 sticks for july.
I love Ride Arc but realistically only been on one ride. And I dont live in Santa Monica.
and forget Pioneer Chicken we are meeting at Scoops/ Bicycle Kitchen. on Heliotrope, off of Melrose.

Fuck it. July 6th is it.
And here's the spoke art/flyer.

Wait, uh, guys . . . why conflict with RIDE-Arc (one of the best rides going IMHO) when there are other dates available?

i have no idea. i'm just going with the 'fuck it' theme.

do you have a psd of that file. if so studiodrome@hotmail.com
thank you so kindly.
we're also going to spice things up a bit on this ride.
Like bring your own spoke card. Mostly because i'm posting the route in advance. yes i have gone insane. But I'm assuming the route to be so awesome that I want everybody to stare at it for 2 weeks straight.
We'll also have an ice cream eating contest at scoops starting around 9 p.m. The contest will be if we can make scoops run out of all of its ice cream. And I'll make sure he prepares extra that night.

hellyeah. Vegan ice cream better be in stock if my furious appetite is expected.

in regards to scheduling conflict. I honestly recommend going to Ride Arc or Santa Monica Critical Mass over the "Hollywood Ridazz: Cocaine & Crack Awareness Ride! how to spot a drug dealer and run for your life. and how to Trip Out on Ecto Cooler Hi-C"
Ride Arc is definitely one of the coolest rides i've been on.
Hollywood Ridazz has been dead and really dont want to wait weeks and weeks to get it going.

Why doesn't Ride Arc post dates on this calendar as well?.. I didn't get a Ride-Arc email notice for the 6th. Is this a monthly revolving date? Maybe that's why nights get double-booked...

Well, I don't pretend to speak for RIDE-Arc; they have their own way of doing things and don't usually send out their e-mail until a few days before the ride (hey, kinda like the way Midnight Ridazz used to be). But unless I hear otherwise, I always figure it's happening on the first Friday.
And also to make myself clear, I have absolutely nothing against Hollywood Ridazz, I went on 7 out the 8 that took place and I'd be happy to see it continue. I just don't want to have to choose between two good rides on the same night.
mr rollers06.27.07 - 3:09 pm

Yeah conflicting with Ride Arc is just going to make both rides smaller and have people make a hard choice. I'm not sure why you guys don't look into doing a monthly Saturday ride instead. Most of the Saturdays are wide open. Is it written somewhere in the bylaws of MR that rides are to be on Friday or something?
Oh yeah, I've been on all of the Hollywood rides accept the first one. The Arc rides are well worth making and would hate to leave those rides. I've been on more than half of those rides.

a small Hollywood ride will be just fine.
I don't know whats written but there are so many cyclists in Los Angeles in so many different areas with different personalities that one ride doesn't own the entire night.

more rides = more exposure and more people will see bikes on the road and people having fun, isn't that what it's all about?

I think you actually may make Alex Amerri a happy man if you schedule a ride for the same night as RIDE-Arc. Last couple of RIDE-Arcs I went on, I overheard him worrying that the turnout was too big.

Yeah more rides = good, and smaller rides = good too, I just like being on as many rides as I can fit into my schedule, but if there are two rides going on at the same time I can't be on both of them, or can I?
Obviously different rides have different constituencies, but I see a lot of overlap, too.

i'm going to keep the
"Hollywood Ridazz Cocaine & Crack Awareness Ride! how to spot a drug dealer and run for your life. and how to Trip Out on Ecto Cooler Hi-C" on July the 6th.
okay to discourage everyone from coming, this will be the fastest midnight ridazz ever, with the biggest hills imaginable and then it will turn into a hair curling race. With death squads waiting to pulverize us with machine guns towards the middle of the route. the first person to the finish line will be put into a cannon and blasted at a brick wall. the last person to finish or anyone to evade will be forced to drop acid and watch horrendous movies while being force fed 2 dozen stale maggot infested beef filled donuts.

I like it. It kind of reminds me of a song by Broadcast called The Book Lovers. Actually it reminds me of a couple of Broadcast songs, but I still like it.
In fact, I like it so much that this post will be completely free of lolcats in its honor.

So did this scoops ride really happen? I see the one photo of the Ditty Bops, but thats it. I haven't heard of anybody going.
Sure, it's none of my business. I heard that one already.

yes it happened. i have several pictures i havent posted. the ride was low key, we didnt want to take away anything from Ride Arc so we made it as boring as possible. a mild success so we will have several other boring rides in the future.
