Renting a bike in NYC

I'm going to NYC next June for ten days. I want to rent a bike for a week while there. Does anyone here have any connections to a place in da city I can rent a bike for more than one day at a time. Type of bike is not important. I'm thinking of even buying a beater on ctaigslist if nothing else pans out.

 check out Times Up! in Williamsburg at the foot of the wburg bridge. they are like the bike kitchen of NYC. prolly get a beater built
up super quick. or also try spinlister...
