Anyone going to Burning Man? August 31st looks like a great night to ride (although It's too late to add it to the Playa calendar).
Anyone interested?

I've been wanting to go to burning man since I was in High School. The timing is shit fo this year, but maybe I can go next year, depends on my employment predicament at the time.

So Roadblock, you said you might go. Joe, you seem like you're considering it... Do any other Ridazz who are going want to camp together?

Reverend Borfo will be in Amsterdam.
I know Allen in Long Beach wanted Ridazz to coverge on the playa...

Cutter! Thanks for posting! Was bummed about missing the ride chez LA and there's no way I'm missing the man this year, but a BRC ride is a fucking great idea! It is too late to put on the physical calendar but it can still be posted on line. If we/you/I/someone else can post it on Midnight we can draw a pretty big fuckin crowd. I can't think of anything sweeter than riding with our hometown contingent!

Yeah, you beat me to it...I was going to post something up here and find out if there were any ridazz going. This will be my 5th year, and anyone even thinking about it should seriously consider this event..not to try and oversell it, but it has been a life changing experience for many.
I'm happy to help in any way to facilitate a ride, or give more info to anyone who is trying to decide to make the trip out to Burning Man.

I'm going this year, for sure. Last year I proposed Midnight Ridazz BRC as a Lights-Free, go as fast as you can go, danger danger ride, because, simply, everyone rides bikes at BM, and well, it would be fun to swarm the man at night, with no lights, like a dangerous cloud of dust and wheels. But no one bit.
So, yeah. Burners?! Shout out! lets have a meet.

Man I had plans to go to BM. I've wanted to go since I first heard about it in high school back on the East Coast. If any year this was the year for me because I'm into the whole "green" thing. I had requested my vacation from work and was set until the people I was going with changed their plans and decided not to go. Now I find out there are ridazz going after I already told my boss I did not need those vacation days any more.
Bummer

Quidam,
Take the days off back...beg. Lie. Do whatever you can, even if it means doing a Princess trip and only going for a few days. I know people who have called in sick for the whole week, faked deaths in their family, hell, even quit their jobs if they couldn't get the time off.

This year should be a good year with their theme and all, but still doesn't hold a candle to the early times. One of these days I'll tell all you kids about the days before they had a fence and all these fucking rules. This was in the days when if you didn't bring water, you were in trouble! It wasn't some come on to scare people.

Good Luck to all the RIdazz going to BRC. Wish I could be there, but stupid "responsibility" keeping me in LA again this year. Please post a photo of the Ridazz on the Playa when you get back. --Perhaps on some of the 1200 Yellow Bikes that a anonymous donor gave to Burningman. (Black Label BC painted them all green with "Yellow Bike" stenciled on them. These bikes are unpossesable ans accesable to everyone, playa-wide.) The photo is by Danger Ranger.

WOW this is like Black Rock's 9/11!!! Man all this time today I was thinking it was Al Qaeda in Black Rock, and it turns out to be some white dude from SF. Maybe they got the wrong dude? Does the FBI suspect more attacks? Is the border sealed off? The SF Gate article has very little on what's happening. I think what they ought to do now is get all the SUVs out there and stack them all up and burn that! Shit give the people their moneys worth! I'm sure they would trade that for the man. Hell I might even go up there and see that!

OMG!!!! I just realized this! If you add all the numbers to the date above, it adds up to 25. This tragedy happened on the the forth day of the week. You subtract four from twenty five and you get 21. This year is the 21st year of Burning Man!!! Wow this is spooky! Could this be a sign from the gods above? Very uncanny!

We had a great time, we being Crespin, Dave, Jeff and yours truly.
Start thinking about going next year, NOW. We're going to start a proper Midnight Ridazz camp. Details soon. Ideas, thoughts & questions should be saved for a proper thread, which we'll start soon.
If you think Midnight Ridazz is exhilarating and you enjoy the parties, you've seen nothing until you've ridden and partied in Black Rock City -- seriously.
20 minutes,

words can't describe Burning Man. my pictures can't capture the energy and scope of the event. I also didn't remember to take photos when I was having fun.
if you like bikes and Midnight Ridazz afterparties, then you must go to Burning Man. there's nothing like thousands of cyclists partying everyday for a week. bikes may be incidental to the art, but they were the primary reason why I decided to go.
oh, and all the naked women.

Cutter,
I guess we f'd it up on friday. I just looked at your ride announcement/post, and we had it all wrong. We tried to look for Cutter and the Philharmonic at Playa Info, nothing.
Next time, we'll pay more attention and lay off the "chocolate".
the reverend dak09.4.07 - 4:02 pm

Had a fucking amazing time. Great to hang out and get to know Rev and Jeff....we really tore things up there. I'll be posting our pics soon...but seriously, it's not too early to start thinking about next year. They've already announced the theme..."American dream"...and bikes and bike riding fit into that theme almost too well!
Wonderdave09.5.07 - 5:57 pm
reply
yeah, i tried to get into the playa info computers, but that line was just too damn long every time i got over to center camp.
i hung out at 3 'o clock on friday night for about 30 min or something until i realized that trying to single out any of the ridazz in a city that's pretty much made for bikes would be kind of impossible.
i'm sure y'all had a great time anyways!
Cutter09.6.07 - 2:35 am
reply
Yeah, no big deal. We all had a great time...
But next year we should try a bit harder and get a big ride set up. BM is a lot like San Fran, being that everyone is on a bike. But you don't see bike gangs doing bike rides, you don't see much in the way of PACKS of bikes roaming, exploring and partying on the playa. It's fun in LA, so it would be amazing to do out in BRC.
We're doing a Midnight Ridazz Theme Camp next year, FOR SURE. You're welcome to stay with us, or just come an visit. We're going to plan a couple events, provide bike repair, and the extent of the camp will probably be the bike repair shop and a common shade structure/chill space. Everyone else should be self-sustaining.
Once we all decompress, catch up with the default world shit, I want to get the ball rolling so we have something in place and planned for next year. My vision is very simple, and will accomodate just about anything that people want to do.
Everyone should start giving it some thought, and burnerzz should be able to share their experience to make the camp bitchin.
the reverend dak09.6.07 - 11:44 am

Yes! I am going next year no matter what and I hope to see as many Ridazz as possible on the playa!
Start planning now for next year!

Yes Dak, while you guys were gone I had this vision that Borfo was my spritual leader. It was on the Big Ass Ride. He looked like my Buddha Master after he shaved his head. But it turned out I was following a false prophet. Borfo was just Borfo.
I'll be going to Burningman to find my spiritual leader next year!
