Once a year the renowned L.A. Wheelmen bicycle club hosts cyclists who gather from all over to match their legs and skill against Fargo Street Hill, reputably the steepest hill in Los Angeles. It's only a couple of blocks long, but at over 30% grade, it's quite a feat if you can climb it. Many just want to see if they can make it up the hill at all. Amazingly, others vie to see how many times they can make it up the hill in one day. Many will try the hill. Many won’t make it. Come out to cheer them on and maybe give the hill a try...

Bad Idea Ride: 66 miles on Route 66

 Another metric century (more or less) starting at midnight (more or less) and running all night! More or less.
This time, the plan is to head out old route 66 in time to see the public races at the Redlands Bicycle Classic. We'll only be riding about 45 miles on route 66; the rest of it is assorted streets to the races and back to the San Bernardino Metrolink station, but that doesn't make for nearly as catchy a tagline.
