DUDE I was all set to host August's Midnight Ridazz Cruz with us in the Valley thing when Brian came out of Retirement and scooped it up! he's awesome and his legacy speaks for itself but man I wish I could get my chance... all the other nights are booked up!
is there a start point yet?
Some of us will be attending the 88BoaDrum at La Brea Tar Pits.
The event ends at 9:30 and my pretty sure that there will be plenty of Ridazz that will want to ride out to the Pillowfight afterwards.
++REMINDER +++++
Pillow fighting is for FUN.
PLEASE do not hit hard.
I stopped last time because I got injured.
pillow kisses please.
and more hugging and rolling around on the ground.
hey does anyone know what direction the ride will take? i bunch of us are going to be at the tar pits for the DRUMS DRUMS DRUMS.... and we sure don't wanna miss PILLOW KISSES!!!!
I too and some friends on bikes will be at 88Boadrum and would like to attend. I doubt we can make the Start But First stop For sure if it is downtown. Sounds perfect.. I need to head back east home anyway ;)
Not sure. But if it leaves reasonably on time (late) we could make it. However. If the show runs long at all or the crowds are hard to make an exit it would be nice to know the first stop.
My friends are pretty casual riders and I know if I hauled ass they might be burnt for the ride. So I'm playing it safe.
did anyone get pink-eye from the last pillow fight?
i hear its from farting on bed stuff.......can't imagen anyone farting on pillows.....wait maybe i can.... arggg
"Do not hit photographers."
I like that this is added to the ride description. However, even though this is said, I am terrified for my camera's life. I don't think I'll bring it, which is very sad.
I know! Pillow kisses and rolling on the floor! Ah, good times soon. SOON! Less than 24 hours!!!
As for pictures/ cameras.... eh, well, I know it's best if I leave it up to others and finally not have to worry if I'm going to eat shit and break my camera (I already messed up one lens) or worry about missing a good shot, but it's just kinda hard to part with it. I need to shut up. Ha.
I want to wear a shirt that says "Free Pillow Kisses" or something like that. "Free Hugs" "Free Rolling On The Floor"?
I wonder if I can make it in time....
"I will go out of my way to hit photographers. Put your little security blanket away and join the party."
I will go out of my way to seek out PC. It will make for good photographs and besides, my camera is about to go into Nikon for service so maybe if it gets hit, it will make for interesting results.
Only one very small "hill*" and it's at the end. The route is the best route I've ever done(I say that all the time,) exactly 20.9 miles (your mileage may vary) I'll have 200 route slips with turn by turn directions at the START~
If you are new to Midnight Ridazz make sure you see me at the start, so I can give you a map. I'll be by the music trailer.
i might come and hang out. can someone email me where the stops are? or something. i want to come bc its chlo's bday, but i obviously cant ride with my gimp hand and hobbit foot. tinycities at g mail
I'm bringing a bunch of noobs and out of towners that may need to be airlifted in the middle of the ride.(their bikes may break down, they may break down, I don't know.) It's a lot easier to find car support at midnight instead of 2am.
Please, everyone, if you see me with my glasses still on during the pillow fighting (like a moron), remind me to put them in my bag. Or, at least, don't hit me in the face. Thank you.
hey everyone guess what? my supervisor just gave me a bunch of LOS ANGELES BICYCLE MASTER PLAN UPDATE comment cards that you fill in with your comments about improving bicycling conditions in los angeles. i will be handing them out. we can email and send in the cards too!!
weeee here is the website if you wanna send your comments online, but we should send some snail mail too =-)
no...i have no way to get to you now...he is going to ride a bent rim...i am going to the pillow fight ride right from work since i have to work late tonight
If you're really worried about getting to Ktown, I'll take you. Until then, stop asking, because everyone's gonna ride all night and never go home, woooooo!!!!!
well... i have another tire that's flat... but the rim is in perfect condition. raquel, you can have it if someone comes pick it up cus i think i'ma be riding from north hollywood to echo park on my bike.
That was a nice ride.
I think it was my first MR ride with no liquor stops.
Worked for me.
I brought a couple of beers, gave one, bummed one.
Thanks PC
And thanks Danny for putting the ride together.
Now I'll just sit and wait for people to write all the horrible things that happened and I didn't notice.
1-2-3GO
Good ride Indeed. Went into new places in town. Sears tower is a nice stop. Not too much stoppage, more riding which is nice. I was with slower ridazz tonight and People totally booked it after USC so we just broke off and cruised home after Staples center. Wish I could have caught the end pf the ride.
What was with the mass Exodus after some flashing cop lights at the Coliseum pillow fight? People took off like they were getting Tazered or something. I'm all for obeying the man In the trespassing situation but It seemed like a quick exit.
Anyway, good ride. Lots of people. Lots of fun.
I do have to mention the asshole cops Forcing people to the Right lane at USC by swerving their cars at bikers. I was right behind them and almost ate shit when they tried to force people into the right lane. Totally weird. Someone could have gotten hurt really bad.
1 ( ONE ) LITTLE HILL - HOLY FUCKIN SHIT DANNY, I KEEP FORGETTING THE WAY YOU MAKE YOUR RIDES, NICE, VERY NICE, HAD FUN AND MET SOME REALLY KOOL FOOS THIS NIGHT, I JUST GOT HOME IN PASADENA, IT'S 5:04 AM, GOOD NIGHT, AND THANKS
I'M SAD BECAUSE NO BODY CRASHED, BUT THEN AGAIN, THERE WERE ZERO ( 0 ) BEER STOPS, THANKS FOR THE CHALLENGE.
This ride truly kicked some major butthole tonight!!!
Few, but interesting places to stop, multiple passes through the tunnel waking the bums, myself firing my boom-stick into the air to scare off the deadites!!!
It was all in the name of F.U.N. and chicken-fried steak at 3AM.
This also sounds fucked up, but I thought the sound that guy made when he crashed in the parking structure was funny!!!
All you hear is a slight tire-squeal, then "THUMPH".
I'M SAD BECAUSE NO BODY CRASHED, BUT THEN AGAIN, THERE WERE ZERO ( 0 ) BEER STOPS, THANKS FOR THE CHALLENGE

Sorry to hear about the rough parking structure experience.
That was Tern you ran into, he's got a broken (possibly sprained) foot now. Dice Run time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey how about a hand for STEVO who rode behind and fixed like a gazzilion flats and picked up riders in the sag vehicle,
and all the riders who rode in the back, taking care of people with problems and watching out for each other,
Than you for supporting TEAM Midinight Ridazz, Shaun is riding 550 miles next month FIXED from SF to LA for a worthy cause, money donated goes directly to charity. Thank you.
I seen three people fall at the ramp on the WDCH parking structure, I hope you're all ok.
thank you all for coming and for your support, my name is dannyzuko and I approve this mssg.
Good ride, there were a few too many people stopping in the middle of the road after the first stop it happened at least 3 times. I don't know why people were having a problem with the parking garage, it didn't seem slick to me at all. We've gone there before with no issues.
Props to Danny Zuko, excellent route. probably the biggest, fastest paced MR I can remember... and people were handling it very well from what I can tell. I enjoyed the actual riding, awesome scenery, good times, good peeps
My first MR ride was PF1 and this was just as fun or better! Thank you dannyzuko for putting on another epic ride!
@me_gan
Are you from LB? Where do you ride? Hope you're better soon :D
***Also, as me and my group were leaving we saw a paramedic and fire truck helping a fallen rider. Nobody here has brought it up yet so I just wanted to bring the situation into the light and make sure the community was aware of a fallen comrade, and if anybody has news on this person. We were in our car and saw some other riders stopped at the scene, so I can only hope things were alright (although the down rider was strapped to a stretcher). I might mention this was after the ride ended, somewhere up sunset?
@lbRida:
yep. i live in long beach. downtown-ish on alamitos. i ride all over this city. everyday. at all hours of the day. i assume you're in LB also? where at? where do you ride?
I'm in the bixby knolls area, although I usually ride towards the ocean or out to Seal Beach. I'm in your hood often...riding around the downtown area, looking for fellow bike heads. Hopefully our paths cross sometime soon :D
i won't be riding for a few days, at least. i can barely walk. hopefully i'll be able to make it to polar rollers on wed. i'm down to ride with ya anytimeeeee. i'm always on ocean/the beach path. maybe we already have crossed paths??
Me_gan. That was such a slow, innocuous looking fall we had when we got tangled up. But, I guess leverage and inertia will be as they are. I'm really sorry the whole thing happened. Thinking back, I couldn't place a blame either way, really. I was riding with severely limited brakes. IIf I had my brakes in proper condition, it should have been easy for me to slow down when you were coming over. But, well, sheesh. I hope you are feeling better soon.
TERN, thanks. i feel bad about it all still. sorry. =/
anyway, it happened. can't do anything about it now.
hope you're not in too much pain. get better soon please.
holy crap, that was a crazy ass ride. my second MR gig, the first being choppacobras and it's laise-faire lollygag ride, i wasn't really expecting such a good pace,. but whooooie, that was just what doctor ordered.
met lots of good peeps, but i suck at names, soo.....
. i was mostly with the head of the group on the orange santa cruz chamleon ss mountain bike. to all who i shared sidewalks, curbs and gutters with, it was a pleasure riding with ya.
fuck, good tunes, good folks, good beer (tecate!!!!), good ride, great adventure and way tooooo much adrenaline. 'twas a blast....
Yo Danny and others that helped on this ride... GREAT RIDE!! Excellent! And yes... I forget that Danny's "hills" and my hills are a tad different. I was anticipating the lack of liquor store stops and stocked up before the ride. Some of us were talking after the ride and thought what a simple thing to take the liquor stops out of the equation and what a such a nice pace/ride it created. One of the best routes ever!!
That was my first ride and it was awesome. Great tunes is right!! It was a party on wheels, the pace was perfect. I liked seeing the looks on people in thier cars as 250 riders passed them out of nowhere. Videos online don't capture how fun it is being there in person (especially the tunnels)
i noticed we avoided liquor stores and a lot of the issues we've been having as of late. we should keep doing this but let everyone know to fill up before getting there.
PF2 was excellent as a first ride.
I think it would be easy for anyone in the front to always stop for a liquor and then keep going and to be in the middle of the ride.
I'll usually scope out a Quickie Store to make sure it doesn't have a line.
If it don't, then I'll run in there, grab what I need, pay for it, then haul ass back to the armada!!!
Well, no thefts or any of that other horseshit that's been going on.
With the limited stoppage, we've sort of put the brakes on that behavior.
So, all in all, it was a good night and my head is still ringing from getting destroyed by some pillows, but I think I'll be able to get my load out to Arizona and back just fine.
I DUNNO IF THIS IS THE SAME ACCIDENT EVERY ONE KEEPS TALKING ABOUT, BUT THERE WAS ONE IN THE BEGINNING OF THE RIDE WHERE 2 BIKES GOT SO TANGLED WITH EACHOTHER, THEY HAD TO HAVE THE WHEELS TAKEN OFF , IT WAS RIGHT AT TEMPLE AND I THINK UNION OR WHATEVER THAT STREET IS THAT RUNS ALONG THE PARK!!! AND THERE WAS A BEER STOP RIGHT ACCROSS FROM THE SEARS PARKING LOT @ THE SHELL GAS STATION!!!
Jazzy-
Honestly, if I weren't so confused, I probably would know your true identity, but I'm really confused, so I don't. And I love being redundant. It's funny.
just add the ones, carry the 5 and divide by 4.... you already had the answer on your second to last post on this thread. or maybe 3rd to last. now i'm confused. :)
Danny...guys, gals....A M A Z I N G R I D E !!! Had the best weekend on my bike, starting Friday night! Didn't mind not stopping directly at the liquor stores! Good job! WHO HERE IS GOING TO BM????
