Tonight we are expecting our largest turnout yet. Last week we had 43 riders - could we hit 60 tonight?
Come out and experience it for yourself!
Last week we had the Drag Race with Rob winning by the slimmest of margins.
This week we have a road race at the first stop (roughly 1/4 mile long). Closed course with a new category - Women's!!!
That's right, starting tonight we have 2 jerseys up for grabs. Sigma is sponsoring the event with cool prizes as well.
The pace is slow and social (except for the race), weather is perfect, and we are hitting safe, lit roads for about 2 hours of ride time.
Helmets and lights are still strongly recommended.
See you at the Lancaster City Park and Ride (10th Street West & K-8) between 7:30 & 7:45 - Ride starts promptly ay 8:00pm!

Pictures are posted from our biggest ride yet last week, either 60 or 61 riders!!!
The new format ran really smooth, less stops, more ride time, nice mellow pace, good distance.
Shiloh and Casey won the jerseys on the Lancaster Blvd Street Race. Casey kept the jersey, Shilo reclaimed hers.

This Wednesday promises to be the most fun ride that we have done. Working on the details now.
We will roll to QH, then to the AV Mall for a parking lot loop, then to the Auto Mall for a circuit race.
The circuit race will be a one lap qualifier (heats to be determined by turnout) and a two lap main event.
The course is great for spectating and even better to race so you will have the option to choose when we get there.
Prizes to the winners from The Block Shop and Sigma Sport!
The races will run quick and efficiently and we will return via Sierra Hwy Bike Path under a full moon.

We at the Block Shop want the year 2010 to be the year that cycling became recognized by our community!

Please join us this Saturday at the Block Shop 42217 12th Street West Lancaster, CA 93534 (on the corner of L-12 & 12th Street West adjecent to the 14 freeway) in Lancaster at 11:30 am for a ride that will make history.
Joined by our Mayor, R. Rex Parris we will circle the town on a police escorted 15 mile critical mass ride and make the cycling community known to all.
You will have the opportunity to meet OUR Mayor before the ride from 10:30am - 11:30am. Then ride with him for the next hour or so.
How many people can say they ride bikes with the mayor of their city? Show up on this ride and you'll be one of them!
The event is totally free! The first 100 riders to register will receive a free tee shirt!
We want this event to be huge so please pass this information along to anyone that has a bicycle. To be added to our list email us at block@antelecom.net
The pace will be slow and social so anyone who is capable of riding a bicycle for an hour will be able to stay in the group (it is a fun ride - Not a Race).
Signups will be open from 10:00am - 11:30am and the ride will start promptly at 11:30 (please be on time as safety is a huge factor and we need to leave in one group).
You will not be able to experience anything like this anywhere else - hundreds of bicycles parading around the city with police escorts.
The ride will start and finish at the Block Shop in Lancaster.
All bikes are welcomed! Mountain - Road - Fixie - Track - BMX - Hybrid - Comfort - Recumbent - Tandem - Tall - etc. (Please wear a helmet!)
