Don't do it. I used to be an addict of Everquest in high school. People regularly called it Evercrack. I like to call it Forever Quest. WoW is basically Everquest with prettier graphics and a different back story. Don't sign your life away, just don't do it. It will be much harder to quit once you are deep in and have goals, agendas and virtual social obligations.

Yeah I was addicted to Anarchy Online throughout HS. WoW wasn't so bad for me though probably because I only played solo and never hooked up with a clan.

I played WoW from release until about 2 months ago. It is truly addictive. Don't play it. Check out Left 4 Dead and Fallout 3 if you want to check out some new games that won't try to claim your soul.
PS: My WoW characters are for sale to anyone interested. I have a level 70 Warrior with PVP epics, and a level 70 mage with raid epics. Both on Whisperwind realm, ready for transfer and name changes.

this guy on my floor in the dorms was addicted to everquest. this one time i thought he was going to actually leave his room for the weekend when he told me he was going to a wedding. it turned out to be a virtual everquest wedding.

i still love to kick someones ass on the HALO 1 classic. classic xbox.
i kicked everyones ass on that. i was so sneaky with the malay atack and had precise aim with those fucking human grenades. ti kink ti kink kink. BOOM YOU'RE DEAD from a fucking 100 yards away.

My younger sister, Wand(umb)a, is one of the biggest addicts to that game.
I have to literally, peel her from the seat just to get her to go to school in the morning.
If anything, this game gives people mental difficulties and should be challenged as a threat to everyday existence.
On the other hand, I'm still jonesing for that Resident Evil 5, or a good 'ole, Silent Hill installment.
Nothing like shooting at zombies with a Glock-19, or smacking possessed wheelchairs around with golf-clubs!!!

oh man. seriously, i can't get caught up in it these days. i used to spend hours playing SC and wouldn't get anything done. my gf would probably break up with me. at least with my bike, i can say " i'm getting exercise..."

Ah, now Civilization, there's some original electronic smack. I lost months of my life to that in high school. That, and Wizardry VII, and Doom. At least those games had an "end' though, which made it a lot easier to walk away. These newfangled online worlds just sound like evil in a box.
