I have not revealed the location of the enchanted forrest but I am assisting with the F'n efforts to ensure stops that neither you nor any other rider I've met has discovered.
This VCM will be something else and will end with something F'n else!

I am living on the westside and have been scanning the forums and reading the rides for a while. My job restricts me from being more available and just recently I have found a few days open. I was thinking of attending Venice Critical Mass. And this will be my first midnight riders ride and I was wondering what I should expect and how many people. Also, if it is okay for me to bring some friends from the area along who I would like to introduce to what I think could be a good time while riding bikes?

Venice Critical Mass and the following Something Else Ride (A.K.A. F'n Westside Ride this week) are a little different from other Midnight Ridazz rides because they are a little more spontaneous and off the cuff.
You and your friends can expect to be welcomed and shown a good time with plenty of unexpected turns and surprises along the way. The number of attendees varies but you can expect the crowd to start anywhere from 40 to 120 people and slowly dwindle down as the night wears on. Those who stay to the bitter end are likely to have unwittingly ridden upwards of 25 miles at a leisurely pace, form long-term friendships, and may even be treated to a special prize for their diligence.

expect the unexpected... the last one I went on was pretty chill. seemed like a 15 miler total so if it's still what I remember it to be, it would be good for first timers... bring your soccer jersey and a spare pair of cleets though... better yet, a tank top and sandals would suffice just as good...

Thank You. I am looking forward to meeting new people and merging them with my friends. We have been riding together for a while and it's always nice for us to intermingle with others that may not be in the industry. If you are in the industry then you understand this last statement and we can always hook each other up with gigs.

Yes - i get what you are saying, These ridazz you are about to ride with on Friday night are laid back and chill and i promise this is a great first ride to meet people and really see what the westside is all about as far as Midnight Ridazz goes.
i had been on many MR rides previous to VCM and ended up just (on some whim) showing up on my own where i met so many great people (and getting to know them on a personal level that i find is a bit more difficult when you are surrounded by hundreds of ridazz) Since then we have all created such amazing friendships. so much so that we often ride on nights when there are no rides posted. and we are there for each other when a rida is down and unable to ride.
i look forward to meeting you and your friends and yes, we can industry swap - i'd love to know what part you are involved in!

If my translation is correct, it looks like knittens thinks that soccer is uncertain at this time. It's not like soccer is necessarily not not going to happen, but it might not be true that maybe a cancellation might not not occur.

met some people on bikes this morning - new to biking and invited them Friday night :) VCM is great for meeting people on the westside.. am looking forward to a nice chill ride with unexpected goodness and surprises..
@ soccer:
it's fine.. maybe we can vote.. or do it next time.. or do it at Mar Vista Park while we are waiting for the next ride to begin.. either way.. it'll be entertaining!

There might be two forms of facial explosion.
One would involve the people who come to VCM expecting to play soccer. Facial explosion from not playing soccer.
The other would involve people going to a soccer type of ride. Facial explosion out of excitement.
There is always a good and a bad. Same goes for facial explosions.

If for some reason VCM does not satisfy your riding urges, I guarantee you that the after ride (F'N WEST SIDE RIDE) will.
Seriously.
Don't let the fact that some people wanna play soccer deter you from VCM. I am with you on the soccer. I don't like to play it at all. You MIGHT catch me throwing a frisbee-- but I'd rather save my energy for riding & altering my state of consciousness later into the night. Soccer is about the last thing I wanna do.
I am not hating on those that want to play soccer, go for it guys. It's critical mass! Do what you want! Plus there is time at the stops for it. The worst thing that can happen is that some of your friends will play and you'll have to stand talking to me on the sideline rapidly drinking beers.

Should I go on LACM, or VCM? I can't decide.
On that note, after the F'n west side ride, there is possibility of a house party to be ended at. As in I know a place, and haven't cleared it with anyone yet, but just putting it out there.

If all you want to do is ride I suggest you don't come to CRANKmob's first birthday this coming month, it will be too much fun. Perhaps you could start a Critical Manners ride somewhere on the competing evening.

They do ride quite a bit, but you still have the option to re-inebriate yourself at every stop ;)
That is the plan for the F'N ride, too. Ride / Drink / Ride / Drink
Of course the drinking is optional :)

VCM was full of awesomeness!
there was no soccer to be had.. but that was okay cause the peeps came out and we rode the streets and had F!U!N!
