Its official. I just got a call from Valley Plaza parks and rec and they are formally givin us the boot. NO MORE POLO on the tennis courts there. None. They notified LAPD as well as General Services Police to our game. They did however, say that they are trying to find us another spot to play in, possibly at Victory and Vineland near target. But they will only help us if we NEVER play at Valley Plaza, or at any other park without a permit again.

They have already cited soccer players, and they said they new about us well before our meeting and the times article. They say they liked us enuff to warn us so we DONT get pinched by the man..

Pretty sure we're ok there for now. We just got to be careful, we dont want to lose that spot.

That's really sad that it worked out that way. I hope they are serious about helping us get a spot.

I really hope they are actually serious about getting us a new spot as well, but I am sure it is lip service.

Well that sucks....So I will be moving to Chicago by the end of the mont...Im gonna finish up with the time consuming yard sale at my house...If anyone is interested in awesome dvd's collectibles, vintage tin lunch boxes etc...come down (Fountain/Fuller)

Trying to do some reseach. This is a Free Tennis Facilities court and we should be able to use it as we like, no permit is required or rules on what can be played on the court.

There are two types of courts: Open Play which are free and available on a first come first serve basis; and Reservation / Pay Tennis where hourly fees apply per court and reservations are required. Lighted courts are open from 7am to 10pm. Unlighted courts are open from dawn to dusk.
Nowhere does it state that a tennis court can not be used for anything else other then tennis.
We can always bring tennis rackets with us?

Nope, the Valley Plaza and Amelia Earhart courts are actually both classified as open use courts.
So- who's down to get some thrift store rackets and play 'sideways tennis'?

Although it is open use there are more rules posted at the court it self.

the signage @ valley plaze doesn't say "no bikes," tho the noho park courts may. either way, we are clearly not welcome. we've got the eye of the law watching us....wish the pd and parks people would all just get a clue already!
