What's the etiquette for wheel-sucking? On my ride to Laguna beach today I had a couple riders just start sucking my wheel without even saying hello. How rude, especially since I had ridden over 100 miles already! The only way I knew they were there because of really loud freehubs (sounded like Mavic), I know when I come up on someone I say what's up and at least try to take a pull or two...

seriously? go to bikeforums with that crap. shouldn't the fact that you helped some riders out be enough for you? it's not like they slowed you down. fuck your ego. fucking roadie piece of shit.

yeah, thats rude shit.
its kind of dangerous for that person too, because you could brake check just cause you want and they get fucked.

Ride a bike. Maybe you'll figure it out.
And that shit is hella fucking rude and annoying. What is this shit? The Tour de Chicken Froinch? No. What happens if you stop all of a sudden? Make a turn? Especially if it's one of those brakeless wonders.
I did that to my friend once. Totally tailgating her. She made a sudden stop, I couldn't. Very bad form. Never again.
Almost as bad as the clown parades clogging up traffic.

Ettiquette would call for them to pull at some point. But there's some satisfaction in knowing they were too tired to do so... Anyway it's not the end of the world if they don't pull... Feel proud.

PCH in OC is especially bad for weekend warriors fantasizing about being Lance Armstrong.
Its not uncommon for a rider or two to latch on to a stranger's wheel without a "howdy-do".
Etiquette requires the sucker say something, like "mind if I ride with you for a while" or some such.
I usually slow down so much they are forced to pass me, then I suck their wheel for several miles. Sometimes they are going so slow when they pass me that I just pedal a little harder and quickly drop them.
I guess the right thing to do would be let them tag along and not get all worked up about it, but I am a competitive male, so my collar is usually way too hot to think rationally.

It's called drafting. Next time just pedal faster for a good distance and the tiredness will get to the person whoever is trying to keep up with you, to actually say hello, or wait up for me.
I always like messing with tighties, they so fun to chase and lose at the same time.
