Cajon Pass Death Zone
I'm going to at least give it a go once I've got better tires and a ride to go to for the night.
I was thinking ride down to the Metrolink station in Fontucky and chill my bones to Union Station.

In Mad Trucker Lingo, translated, it means that he's going to pay us a little visit.

Figured a supply run to one of the better bike shops down here would be nice as well.
The local businesses up here are too ignorant for my money.
No high-pressure 26" tires my ass!!!

The hill on the 15 doesn't worry me, but the rednecks in riceburners will.
This is why I was thinking of doing it during a work day.
This way I could avoid the 25 and under drivers that always seem to have the most pent up aggression and arrogance of any group driving out there.
Nothing but people on business runs between San Bernardino and Victorville, along with the true owners of the road, truckers.

So you riding on the 15? There's alternative roads you can take on part of it. How are those?

Those are mainly fire roads that take me in zig-zag paths through the wilderness.
Another reason I hate those is that they tend to get washed out and rebuilt, ten years later.
I'm just looking to ride the simplest route down and up, not blaze a trail through an area of no particular concern.

A good portion of that route running underneath the power-lines is going through soft sand.
I'm just sticking to the hard-pack and pavement to ease up on any literal, ass-busting.

Yeah I see what you're talking about. I would be interested in what you're wondering is a good route. Other than the freeway. Freeway wouldn't be bad, just wondering if there's an alternative.

The only other alternative would be to take Summit Valley Rd down to 138 and hook that onto the 15 to get to Cleghorn and such.
But, it's the same problem with the other route you suggested, too twisty and adds unnecessary distance to a simple trip.
I may use it while going back up though.
The last time I used this was about 10 years ago when I rode up to Silverwood Lake.
