For those of you who don't know 8-9-09 will be the 40 year anniversary of one of the most notorious murders in history, at least in pop culture history, which led to a string of notorious murders lovingly refered to by "The Family" as Helter Skelter. This crazy stuff happened right here in our Los Angeles. This ride is a tour of some of the places around town having to do with the murders, the victims and the trial.

 Looking for art of any kind even if it doesnt relate to the theme. Summer bike camp is here. We'll have a camp fire and tell scary bike stories with smores. drop off is friday august 7th 2-6pm at the bike oven. No late entries i want to go on the ride this time.

Speedy Ladies Training Ride

 Racing is F.U.N.!
This is a training ride for ladies who are interested in racing. I'm starting a Women's Cat 4 team for next year's race season. A group of women are getting ready to do their first ever race at the end of the mont. If you've never raced but thought maybe it would be awesome, (and you are a lady) come out!
We'll practice pacelining, do a few intervals, and chat about what to expect in a Criterium race. This is a no-drop ride.

We will ride around the Santa Monica, Venice, and vicinity, blowing whistles, waving to drivers/pedestrians and screaming at the top of our lungs. This is a celebration of our right as individuals to ride a bicycle on the streets.

LA Burningman / Mutaytor Roxy ride

The ride starts at the Vermont and Sunset Metro rail station. Meet / gather at 7:30. ride at at 8. ( Mutaytor showtime is at 9). six mile ride up Sunset Blvd. The Roxy will have some spaces in the parking lot for bikes but nothing yet about bike valet so bring a lock in addition to the usual stuff like head and taillights.

Memorial Park (raymond ave & holly ave, gold line station right next to it.)
Chill pace, nothing crazy, just good riding around Pasadena and the surrounding areas. (no rider left behind, if some one starts getting dropped, we'll slow down and match their pace)
just over 20 miles, mostly through neighborhoods, 2 stops (sorry, not liquor stores, so stock up before hand) no crazy climbs or anything, but this is Pasadena, so there is some, but nothing nutty.

Meet at HERMOSA/ PIER at the surfer statue in hermosa beach
Pace is MEDIUM/ FAST ~18-25mph. Fixed/ roadie only.
NOTE: VERY few rest stops on this ride! be prepared with self hydration and food to consume while riding.
Some weeks we do climbing and hills, some are flat and fast. but we ALWAYS have fun! come on out!
