This is a cross between a criterion and a bmx race with some climbing thrown in for good measure. The course is mostly comprised of hard pack sandstone and rutts in the semi figure 8 configuration. Riders will have to complete 15 laps, each lap is approximately .4 miles long meaning the total race is about 6 miles long. Regroup at Long Beach's Transit Mall station at 8 o' clock, stretch, refuel, and GO!
The route from Union Station will end up being just over a century. From Long Beach it's about 85 miles, if you aren't quite up for a century take the train to LB, and ride with us from there. The Big Parade- Staircase Walk

This is being organized by Dan Koeppel, the local journalist and cyclist who wrote the DIY Bike Lane article in Bicycling magazine. It's a 2-day walk of over 100 staircases in Los Angeles. It hits some of the areas of Feel My Legs and Thus Climbed Zarathustra (two Swarm! events that utilize stairs or hills in these neighborhoods). This is a fantastic opportunity to see parts of Los Angeles that very few do. And those cycling legs will come in handy.
