Hello my bicycle friends, i no alot of you were my age once (15) and i no alot of you are smart so i need your help.
This summer im looking for a job, i love art, music, books, and coffee.
It has become apparent that most stores that i ask would rather take the 18 or adult that aksed for the job for they do not trust me.
What is a job that teenagers can get, i will work my ass of if i can get one.

found that I wasn't able to get a job until I was 16, because child labor laws become more lenient at that age. I know a few of my friends had super shitty jobs bagging groceries at 15. That was the only thing I heard of kids under 16 getting unless they personally knew the business owner.

I remember when they used to have paper routes for bmx'rs up here until they were supplanted by cars.
And then the car-delivery started complaining about getting shit thrown at their vehicles and other forms of sabotage.

Go around your neighborhood and knock on some doors. Ask if they'll pay you a few bucks to cut their grass, clear brush, clean gutters, etc...

When I was your age, the only job I could get was caddying at the local golf courses. If you carried two bags, it came out to a pretty decent wage, and you were out in the fresh air getting exercise, which was pretty cool as well. You might try calling some of the local country clubs and see if they take caddies.

I once worked at this great French bakery in Westwood. It's family owned and has had the same owners since 1962.
I know them pretty well, and think they might be open to have you there. They paid most of us under the table.

just walk around businesses in your neighborhood. small businesses are more likely to hire you. have you asked at brakeless? i see you there enough!

Go to your local bike shop and tell them you will work for free
cleaning bikes, and sweeping up.
when the owner sees you have good work habits such as
showing up on time , and keeping mouth shut they may start training you to work on bikes. This was how I got my first job
that turned into a career lasting 30 + years.

Now tortuga_veloce LAbrakless was the first place i went last year to ask for a job before they had even moved and it was a straight up were to broke sorry, i would love to work there but until more rich teens get the daddys to buy them a bare knuckle it not gonna happen.

Hmm... yeah getting a job you want as a teen is a tough one. Make sure you have a good resume (get some adults to proof read it and help you make improvements), then just go around and ask to speak to the managers of stores (or whatever) you think you might want to work at. If you know of a place that is looking for people, find out the name of the manager and compose a really nice cover letter. THEN ask to speak to them, so you can give it to them personally.
I did this with the first job I got (at Hallmark) and they gave me the interview & job offer on the spot.
Before that I was a babysitter & Camp Counselor. Ick.
