Wolfpack & Den Mothers GO COASTAL 2: The Log Ride

Thursday, 05.17.07 START TIME: 7:30pm
After months of taking care of business, the Den Mothers are back to take inventory on the pack. Yes, we’re finally hosting the long anticipated Log Ride in Long Beach.
Where: Meet in front of the BIKE STATION in downtown Long Beach at 7:30pm.
What to bring: Wood (!) and other combustibles. That’s right, because we are going to set them motherfuckers ablaze for a Wolfpack bonfire in Bolsa Chica and we don’t want no weak-ass flame.
As always, Den Mothers are looking out for the pack and will provide some sustenance. After party at Monica’s house. It’s about half a mile from the blue line.

is this a girls only ride? it sounds fun and its a lot closer to my house than the monday wolfpack rides are.

Quite the contrary - I think Don or Hayden was the one that dubbed Chuy, Monica, and myself the "Den Mothers" because at the beginning we were some of the only girls that would come to Wolfpack regularly. Of course, that's not the case any more... but not to worry, this is a co-ed ride, probably more boy heavy than girl. See you there!

I was literally dreaming of a ride like this the other night on the way home from the Dada ride .. then I get home, go online, and bam... the Den Mothers got it all planned out. Thanks Den Mothers!

Just a couple of tidbits of information:
1. Bikestation Long Beach is located at (221 First Street, Long Beach, CA 90802)
2. First train (Blue Line) you can ride with your bike: 6:30pm (7th/Metro)
3. Last train out of LBC: 11:21pm.

regarding tidbits:
Blue line; can't board with a bike before 6:30pm?
If the last Blue line (eventually heading back to the Noho station via Red) leaves at 11:21pm - where will the pack be in regards to route in order to make this?
I'm just trying to figure if for example we're 30 miles in a direction away from the station. LB is a long way from home - just don't want to get stranded because the Metro doesn't run late.

Yeah, because it's a high traffic time, bikes are not allowed on the trains between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. I work a regular 9 to 5ish job, so I tend to think in terms of how do I get around during traffic times. :)
The beach we are thinking of is about 15 miles away from the Blue Line stop, so we can definitely start packing up if people want to make it there on time.
Alternatively, I'm taking my car down there and can take a limited amount of people back to LA if needed after 11:30.

cool, thanks for the info!
i'm going to try to make the Blue before 11:21 but maybe if in a worst case scenario, I could catch a lift back to LA.
Anybody know what the weather's like in the evening in LB? Is it t-shirt or hoody?
also; what about 'logs'? Are they sold in the LB area we're meeting at or do we hike 'em down from our respective hoods?
this should be fun!

DENMOTHERS.... I regret I cant make the log ride got caught up in some last minute bullshit..... have fun though!! if it's any consolation.... I had a really large log this morning.... uh... no.

before I left the Valley I got Bike Station address & map online: 105 N. Long Beach Ave (just off the Compton Blue Line station). I rode around Compton for about an hour. Even got lost and ended up in Paramount.
I tried to meet-up with you guys - what a bummer.
at least I got to see Compton on a bike!
