Brakes for the children

Instead of getting turkeys for homeless guys and toy guns for the youth.
We should all pitch in and get brakes and leavers for the desperate youth that can even afford to put brakes on their bikes.
I saw a kid on friday night on a brakeless single speed freewheel that was fred flintstoning at all his stops. Poor kid was wearn a hole in his shoes!
We need a Brakes for Tots foundation or something so we can look out for then next generation (b4 they crash into us).

I bite my tongue because every brakeless moron sidewalk rider will eventually come around to the wonder that is gears and brakes and we'll get more dedicated commuters on the road out for more than just lookin' cool.

If Santa leaves a brake in their stocking, will they actually install it themselves? I doubt it. In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that many of them wouldn't want it even if you offered to install it
for them. A much more effective strategy would be to start a group that goes around installing brakes on bikes that don't have them, guerrilla style.

We need to just go out and start installing the brakes ourselves randomly. ride around with brakes and look for the breakless bikes alone and un-attended and install them.
This morning on Wilshire I saw a fixie breakless kid going the the opposite direction of traffic on the side walk and doing trackstands on the corner waiting for the walk sign to turn. Can we make a rule that if your gonna ride the sidewalk, your not allowed to track stands?

There should be a no "fixie" rule on the sidewalk.
I see Fred Flintstone stoppers all the time.
Since 90% of these bikes are "converted" from department store 12 speeds, I suspect the owners removed their own brakes to look kool.

I say we let Darwinism laws uphold themselves and leave these shitkids be.
If they want to be stubborn as a mule and keep their pride on the surface, let them prance around like that.
At the end of the day, it will be their ass flying across the pavement due to their inability to grasp the concept of a functioning brake.

Brilliant! Thats what I am talking about.
Plus one would still get to retain the smell of burnt rubber that is usually caused by skidding tires or dragging shoes.
