Anyone ever get a Party Burrito from Taco Bueno (or anywhere else)? theyre half the size of a regular burrito. hmmmm, i might do a Party Burrito Bike, a mini-bike version....

I see that we'll be riding on La Cienega between Venice and Washington. Can we stop at the Mandrake?

It's arty, like fun-arty, but it's also just pretentious-arty enough for people to freak out if a ton of bikers just showed up and decided to make it theirs.

Ours.

Theirs.

Might be not enough space. But they do have a back room for dancings?

All conversation suddenly stops, and so does the music. All eyes swivel toward you. We size you up. You size us up. Silence hangs heavy over the tense scene. Somebody coughs. Somebody else giggles. Narrowed eyes begin to open and pursed lips begin to relax. You smile. We smile. Conversation resumes. Somebody turns the music back on. The group parts down the middle to accept you into the fold. You and your friends introduce yourselves. "Welcome," we say. "Welcome to Los Angelopes."

And then we eat you.

In that case, I will stick to an, ever-lower, ass-draggin', recumbent.
700's will be the only "tall" part of this concept.

I dunno 'strider, I'd say a recumbent fits into the freakbike category, as the UCI went and proclaimed them "not bicycles" way back in the 30's or so, and I think I see more tall bikes than I do recumbents...

due to some mild injuries sustained on its last voyage, along with a desperate need of a bath, the B(ike)BQ is gonna have to sit this one out, so i'm prolly gonna have to ride my reg'lar bike....

Just y'all wait till next month (unless something goes horribly wrong)....

I would like to remind all Ridazz that the county of Los Angeles has decided to have the Los Angelopes ride with take the place of any groundhog day festival that would have been previously planned tomorrow.

As you may know if an Angelope ventures out into the wild and/or watches a free FUNDERSTORM show on February 2nd the ride will last for the next 6 weeks.

that is all.

And speedybrian, I've already seen quite a few that are already made the way you say.
Those Actionbent Tadpoles seem freakishly, outlandish in their own right.
That and the fact that they've got a 26" drive-wheel.

It appears we grew from 15 riders on #1, to at least 100 on #2 !!!! WTF!!!? DOUBLE TROUBLE, BIKE BRIGADE, 1ST TIMERS, SOUTHSIDERS AND EASTSIDERS! I love how many showed up willing to get freakiii and its good to see I am not the only one with some inner desire to bike around the city going BBAKAKKAKAKKAKKAKAAAAAKAKKKAKKAAKA!!!!!

FUNDERSTORM!
I am not going to say that we HAVE fans... We ARE fans, fans of each other, fans of this culture we have collectively created! We are only an outlet, a musical manifestation of how much biking in LA means to us... If there is any credit to what we do, how we sound, where we play, its all due to everyone in this phenomenon we are inventing. Hence the mantra- FUNDERSTORM IS A BAND OF 2,000...You wont be finding rides to dance clubs, and you won't be finding FUNDERSTORM at the venues.
We are ridazz,
these are our streets,
come and get us!

I am 10 feet tall today.

ENJOY YOUR "1 4 3, 2 4 5" ALBUMS! THANKS TO ALL WHO PURCHASED! Anyone else, they are still available, find B-Rad or myself anytime. In case no one understood, the CD insert is a real, functioning spoke card.

To everyone that was there last night - you brought so much life to the show. Anyone that left, I understand, it was late, raining, exhausting, etc...Catch us next time!

this is a repost from the Bicyclist Bill of Rights! thread.

i had a situation with the culver city pd during the Los Angelopes ride last night. the officers were trailing the group while telling us to 'move to the right'. i maintained my position on the road as they pulled up to my left, asked if i had heard them. i responded with an affirmative. i also attempted to briefly explain my rights according to the CVC and asked if they wanted to pull over so i could show them the faded and wrinkled Illuminate L.A. flyer that i hoped i still had in my bag.

the officer proceeded to read the flyer with the vehicle code aloud and affirm that i was in violation of each rule. i responded by repeating my rights to the road with consideration of the conditions in which in feel safest. he neither confirmed nor denied the CVC, but insisted that i was blocking traffic. he also threatened to ticket me.

neither of us were willing to concede as we were both stubborn and adamant about getting our points across. he continued his lecture by informing me that i did not have these rights. he then asked if i drove a car, and if so, how would i react to a group of cyclist 'impeding traffic'.

luckily, user1 and brassknuckle stuck around to witness my blundering conversation with the officer. user1 confirmed the vehicle code to the officer and told them that we should get out of here... and they let me go.

Question: why are so many riders so afraid of asserting themselves on the road? as soon as a cop shows up, everyone runs away with their tail between their legs. i hear many complaints, gripes, issues in these forums but when some of you folks are confronted with the reality of the situation, you run away like cowards. shame on you!

they re afraid of asserting themselves to the cops right after half the group ran a light right in front of them. nobody wants a ticket however you are right. if EVERYBODY stopped and surrounded the cops and became witnesses with cameras flashing tape rolling I think it would impact the situation strongly.

I really don't understand why all this controversy has arisen. It was a party ride - one in which laws were broken by the group pretty much every minute that we were rolling, if not more frequently. It just seems to make sense to me, given the circumstances, to minimize our interaction with law enforcement by being as cooperative and courteous as possible. Note: 'as possible' does not include riding in the door zone, which appears to have been their desire. I didn't stop cause I had a basketful of alcohol and I need to keep my driving record clean since I already pay $3K per year for insurance. Since they were apparently hassling the riders in the back to ride in the door zone, it sounds like MAMBB did the right thing and stopped and clarified the situation for them.

The only things that we really need to do better are to demonstrate our law-abiding nature more quickly by getting the group into a single lane as quickly as possible when asked, and maybe to respond to illegitimate requests as a group, while also allowing for the fact that certain members of the group are always going to have good reason to not want to be involved and, as a group, to work to protect them as much as possible.

HEY! HEY! HEY!!!!! SATURDAY TORE ITS FACE OFF!!!

E-Rock tried to warn me about Fear Pressure at that
fixie show. He leaned in close-like and said, "There's
something else waiting for us at Moustache Bridge today"

"Sure sure" I said. Little did I know...

That's rad the USA guy with the Mullet showed up
but this time with track wheels on a cruiser or
some non-track frame and the plastic windscreen.
I remember someone was saying he told them "I can
handle just about any weather or road conditions
at speeds sometimes of 30 miles per hour. But the
one thing I can't handle is bugs in my face!!!" Which
is classic USA-dude.

I love tall bikes, I love the dominance they grant,
I did notice right away leaning back even slightly
results in an unwanted wheelie. I was really
suprised that tall-bike jousting didn't happen
on moustache bridge. Especially after Franz came
screaming up drunk on that fixed gear and immediately
got on a tall bike with the joust started riding around
in circles yelling at people to joust him. It was that fine
line where I was pretty sure I'd witness my first
tall bike jousting. I guess I'll have to settle for the
mini-bike jousting.... WHAT?!!! F That!!!! MINI-BIKE
JOUSTING RULED!!!! IDAHO VS. IDAHO!!!! I got
stomped each run.... I'll be back.

Los Angelopes!!!! YES!!! Venice Pier is my favorite ocean
spot in LA... any reason to be kicking it there is
a-o.k.!!!! PLUS I HAVE HUGE RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE
THAT MAKE THIS CULTURE MOVE AND BREATHE
AND SHAKE AND GROW AND SWEAT AND DANCE

sounds committed to the 1's and 0's on that EP came
