Favorite moment......

Sexy "Quality Cork" Clown Ride Cork.

Imagine the worst possible CLown Act ever... being "performed" in the middle of an intersection... then punch yourself in the head five times, mash in a 20 minute LA traffic hold up and an endless stream of chaotic drunk cyclists dressed in clown outfits roaring through on both sides of your car.... That my friends is the funniest shit I think I've ever seen. for that I nominate SEXY as R.O.T.Y. for his captive audience performance as a Clown Corker. we need a whole squad of Clown Corkers for 08!

Favorite Ridazz Ride:

The Warriorzz Ride!!

Dak came up with this idea and it was fun as shit! I honestly didnt know if our group (the Warriorzz) would ever be found but lo and behold we rode into the zone and groups of Ridazz dressed as their gang were coming out of the wood work. Riding up Fairfax and seeing about 200 Ridazz coming down fairfax was insane as they realized they found us! I def want to do this giant game of "Hide and Seek" again!

Favorite Race:

The All City East to the Beach Team Race

Seeing the Wolfpack A team cross the line about 5 mins before everyone, then realizing that one memeber was missing was priceless. Turned out that Cole got separated at the start (luckily cause his helmet cam footage of Kyle and crew was priceless) leaving a windo for the All fixed gear team Dang! to cross the line complete and win it all with Cole coming in literally 7 seconds later and Cub Camp following by 20 seconds even though Annie ate shit along the way! what an ending!

Warriorzz was simply amazing. It created a bike zone out of an entire swath of LA. For a couple mad hours it was biketopia!

There was deffinately a few rides in a row where I was thinking now THIS is the best ride ever ... no no THIS is the best ride ever.

Swarm II, and Heavy Metal II were both short and sweet and super fun at the end.

That recent WP up nichols canyon was one of the craziest rides I have been on ever. The cold, the sweat, the pain the beauty and yes the thoughtfulness and teamwork.

07' is is the year I got my first roadbike (thanks tern) and definately the year the bike completely destroyed any sense of normality I was clinging onto.
Thanks alot everyone.

Trick - you? normal? hunny - I've only known you a little while in the grand scheme of hings, but I can say for certain - I doubt you were ever very "normal" ;) and that's one reason why I love you tons!

and mostt def - WARRIORZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!! that was SO FUN! nohing like riding around a designated few square blocks and finally findiing the mass pack of ridazz!!!

favorite moment for me (and maybe this is cuz it's so fresh in my brian, cuz there were so many moments), but the nightt of the toy ride I had dinner att my folks house and didn't make it back to Silverlake in time for the start of the ride and had no idea which of my friends were on which ride and was trying to call people to figure out where I should try tto catch the ride when all of a sudden I heard tons of bicycle bells ringing and whoot's and bike posse noise and I knew everyone was rolling rightt by my house at Sunset Junction!!!!!! I grabbed my bike, raced down the stairs, ran out the door, and caught the ride!!!!!!

I think my Favorite moment was probably a tie between bombing down the hill on Broadway at like 4:30 or 5 o'clock in the morning after the Sci-Arc party going to get breakfast with 15 close friends wasted out of my head and seeing only green and white lights as far down Broadway as I could see; and flying through the port in Oakland with Roadblock, PC, and some girl from Oakland, both of those moments were some of the most memorable this year, at least at this moment.

2007 = CubCamp. A revolution with in the revolution. I can see the dramatic effect they had on many ridazz that have been at this for awhile. Cubz made so many other rides a success. Thanks.

Let’s play fish. The ride will be in a defined area and start with one person being “it”. If that person passes you, you must join them. You ride together and now your group is it. Riders stopped at red lights are safe. Every hour we could regroup at a park and start over. Changing boundaries if need be. February 8, 08 ?

Swarm the Cascades aka, Portland-
That was one of the most ass-rocking, high-points among all the other various things that I experienced this year.
It was the ride that made me realize that while some get their kicks from "clubbin' on Friday nights", the real party-people go "club-hopping" on two-wheels!!

Ghostride the Strip II- My first ride with all y'all.
Fuzzbeast, SkidMarcus, B-Rad, richtotheie, Dingo, this was the first time I saw all y'all in action.
Also, the first ride that made me realize how much riding alone, sucks ass.

So, aside from my embarassing, BigRig accident that sort of ended my year on a cold-note, let's see if '08 can't provide a new leaf.
Who knows, if all goes well, I might(big might) be able to jump back into the rig by late Spring.
Open up a whole, new can of whoop-ass on the rest of the rest of this grand, biased-point-of-view, land.
And if I do, I'm taking on stowaways!!!

My best ride was much more like a best night!

Started out riding the LACM, then proceeding to the Red Line to make the Ninja ride in the valley. Ninja was an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT route! After the Ninja ride we rode to downtown LA, finishing up the night riding at 5:30am! Almost 12 hours of fun fun fun!

Second best ride was the LB Port ride and after hours party that finished up at 9am.

SFCM/Oakland night was a good one too. We were partying in that park at 4-5 am in Oakland, we looked around and there was nothing but the LA crowd! The others had long since called it a night!

Does anyone see a pattern here?

Didn't make the Portland ride, wish I would have, :-(

Riding to the westside in the summertime and chilin on the beach til the wee hours in the morning; everyone laughing watching franz chase ppl while naked was pretty funny. SFCM was a blast - Oakland, GoldenGate, zeitgeist! Watching movies at different ridazz pads. You know drinkin, smokin and just kickin it with everyone on any given night was special to me. I am thankful to know the people I know within this community. So many rides, so many people, so many good times . . . .

I didn't even ride all of 2007 and I am amazed how many awesome memories are crammed into the 9 months that I have been riding.
My first "big" ride was the ninja ride, it was unlike anything I've ever experienced, the Sepulveda Dam in complete darkness on a bike is unreal, Ride-Arc Alex would refer to is as "the sublime". I am so happy everyday to be part of what we got goin' on here. We've traveled together, SF and Portland, San Diego (my 1st century!) Those were some of the best memories I have of this year. I've met some super amazing and inspiring people. Ridazz have organized rides that showed me a city I thought I knew, in a whole new light. Riding bikes and Midnight Ridazz has changed my life in the best possible way. 2007 is just the beginning. I can't pick a favorite ride, every time I have "the best ride" the next one that happens is even better!

LA2SD - Holy Crap. The beers at Pokez & train ride back was worth luggin' myself up Torrey Pines. Oh and the hawk that ate the pidgeon on the balcony was rad, too.
Lights Out! - Watching an unresponsive city turn on more lights when we are supposed to be conserving energy is fun. Drinking wine from a box, even more fun.

Meeting all you crazy kids makes it a bajillion times more fun.
Watching Mark throw that damn Valet Parking sign in the bike path in front of El Cid is pretty fucking funny.

2007

I have lived more in this year than i have ever lived before.

I sit here in LA and ask myself, "Why is it that i have never felt so at home than with these bikers?" Such an eclectic and widespread group of people, careers, and beliefs. What is it that brings us together? Well, you know that "thing" that everyone searches for but never quite knows exactly what it is? That thrill? That sense of belonging? That fun?......Well it is that ''thing' that is what brings us together. The fact that we are all searching for the same thing. It's people, it's love. We are more than just riders.
We're Ridazz; We're a Family.

Cubcamp:

Every Tuesday you scout the route for the Thursday ride; Every other wednesday you have dinner with these people; Every Thursday you ride on and laugh on but most of all LIVE on. Because of Cubcamp, i've met so many beautiful people. The most rewarding feeling is watching those who come to Cubcamp leave with something. Something more than just a sweat; An outlook. It's apparent that life has been reignited for many of us. Cubcamp is contagious. Our open arms and big smiles make even the most shy of people feel at home. Do you know why? Because we ARE family. It seems that with every ride we do, a life is changed and a new chant is formed. "WOAH" became part of every other word in our woah-CUBulary and i thank the bike gods everyday.

C.R.A.N.K. MOB

Holy shit. Wow. Joose. My favorite ride of all time.

SFCM 15

Dance-francisco. Dance to pass, BBD sleeping on the street. Fucking amazing.

Thank You Midnight Ridazz for making my life what it is. I couldn't do anything without all of you.

Best Moment of 07

SpokeNdissnet riding into the Los Feliz street festival, getting to the end of the festival and seeing Chief Bratton. While the Chief was shaking hand with the festival participants, trying to do damage control and image improvement, from the MacCarthur Park May day police attack on protesters. ( He was also up for reappointment to his 5-year position)

PC graps the microphone and ask Chief Bratton, "Why do you keep blaming the event of May Day on Agitators, when the only agitators where cops in uniforms like you are wearing"? The Chief and his aid proceeded to look down and just quietly slither away.

Then it gets silly, we then get told to leave by child star turned plainclothes (undercover) festival security guard Patrick Renna (freckled face kid from The Sand Lot). When Chicken Leather and I recognized who Renna is, Renna disappeared. Then another plain clothes festival security guard shows up (this guy looked about 16 years old). This youthful looking man gets loud and angry with us (actually attempting to get physical with me), telling us that he is getting the cops over to arrest us right now.

The police watched us go in and do our thing through the festival and never blinked an eye or attempted to stop what we where doing.

One of my favorite moments of 2007 was taking a bite of Randy's torta on the Fuck Yeah ride. That shit was delicious. Que Rico's Tacos for that god damn win.

Pretty much every ride I went to this year was awesome. I started riding in Septembers LA Critical Mass. I got to make some really good friends and have a blast riding my bike.

The Heavy Metal Ride was one im never gonna forget. Only cuz it was the worst ride home ever. Riding in the heavy rain, soaked at 1am from the BikeOven was crazy.

La Noche De Los Biciclistas Muertos 2 was my fav ride of the year. I have never seen soo many bikers that night. Plus it was the first time I ever corked a stop.

Meeting people like Eddie, Richard, Cody, Randy, Brian, Sonny, and everybody else I've made friends with was another good thing that came out of 2007.

2008 here we come!

I nominate PC as R.O.T.Y.

for the above stated best moment, wearing the banana suit everywhere. challenging public official, everybody on the board and me. Riding the whole way back and forth from San Pedro to every ride he goes on. Challenging i to a race,( and that Wolf didn't show). Getting Portland ride together, making it to most every Spoke N' Dissent, and early at that, making a Simpson cartoon of himself and his bike, Bringing the Lolcat craz to MR. the ride to the top of Griffith park.

Well maybe not, he has never carried Big Bike Dans trailer a whole ride yet.

The Clown Ride was my first Midnight Ridazz ride ever. Super fun.

Doing Pier Pressure #2 and meeting Dan (brass knucles), wifebike, ruinedbyidiots, and ephemerae, among others. ABORTION TO PASS.

Organizing the first official LA 2 SD ride: 130 miles with 20+ ridazz in just about 12 hours. I am still so happy with how many people showed up. That weekend is something I'll remember when I'm 80.

Tern and his Dark Centuries/Metrics. Made me believe in myself and being able to ride ridiculously long distances.

Wolf Pack. I've ridden the past 6 weeks straight and I'm addicted. Ridden places I've never been at speeds I never thought possible. I hope I never miss a single hustle.

The Chevy Chase ALC training ride a couple days ago. Pure bliss and one hell of a way to spend a Sunday morning.

I think my favorite ride of them all was the Heavy Metal Ride II. It would not have been as fun without the torrential downpour and the awesome band at the end.

I love my bike. I love Midnight Ridazz.
