THE HAUNTED RIDE!!!!

Wow! All of this on a weekend before halloween!
On this haunted ride, we wont be visiting gravity hill, but we will hit 2 insane haunted houses (these are free!), and a scary halloween dance afterparty. After the party ends, we will have a ride back to the park.Yes, a costume should be worn! BTW - All hijackers will be murdered!
Yes ridazz, we will have spoke cards, route cards, and "core elite ridazz" to keep the group together. Mmmuuuaahahahahha!

If my ass isn't entangled in some bureacratic fiasco, expect me to turn out as well.
I plan on taking a full week off before my weekends are devoted to the part-time trucking switchover.
I'm planning on either Eazy-E, or The Man With No Name.
Most likely the latter due to the extreme shortage of Jheri Curl wigs to put on my shiny top.

Speedy, again, if you need any help at all, let me know. I've already put the ride down on my calendar...

Hey speedy, Awesome ride idea.
We wanted to incorporate something like this on the Halloween ride, but with 5 bands total, and both a pre party and huuuuge after party with all the free booze....we decided against it. I have no idea how we are all going to do this two nights in a row, but I am down like a clown for haunted houses.
Fucken right man!
Let me know if you need any help. I'm sure some of the Oven clowns will be up to help for sure.

Richard -
are you a devo fan? (seen it in ur profile) they rock! anyways, wondering if you can help with a playlist for the afterparty, you seem to be into some cool beats. If you can throw it onto an ipod, that would be the best or maybe borrow mine. Im looking for some very danceable grooves, and some halloween jams - lemme know!

As far as the music for the ipod goes...sure. Although I dont really listen to dance music...or anything danceable for that matter. I can put a a pretty eclectic mix together though...let me know.

This looks like an awesome ride. It's probably going to be lots and lots of people.
One thing about the starting point. There doesn't seem to be much room in front of the Bike Oven to handle more than 50-100 people. Also there isn't much parking for those people who have to drive to the starting point.
If there is a crowd of 500 people spilling all over Figueroa we'll have the cops on our asses from minute 1.
Alternative points could be:
- The Home Depot parking lot on Ave 26
- The Supermarket parking lot on Ave 40 (and/or the Sycamore Park up the street)
- The parking lot behind Mr T's on Ave 56 which is a city parking lot and perfectly legal to park.
- The Lincoln Heights Metro station on Ave 26 (also public)
On Google I also see a parking lot behind the Arroyo station on Fig and Pasadena Ave. That would be the closest to the Bike Oven but I've never seen that parking lot first hand so I'm not sure if it's public or not although I suspect it is.
Respectfully

-marino-
There is a giant park across the street from the Bike Oven.
Also less than one block away there is a Huuuge parking lot at the Metro station, not to mention Figeuroa usually has plenty of street parking at night. There is more than enough room.
The oven itself....yeah, I'd say 50 to 100 people.
As for the cops......so far the police in LA usually don't care about the rides and sometimes come check them out. Figeuroa is a pretty dead street at night. I would't worry about a thing.

Take the red line to the end at the North Hollywood Stations
Take Chandler, to Tujunga South, to Magnolia, and there is Emilia, Standing tall
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1416839
It is not as good as Eddie's map, but it will get you there.
Or for the more adventurous
Take Sunset to Cahuenga Blvd Right, take it up all the way to the 101 freeway, continue til you get into the valley, make a right on Lankershim, left on magnolia, to Tujunga
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1416843
Warning: Cahuenga is a bit of a huffer.

We are leaving at 9Pm sharp, if anyone is late.
If you get out of the Red Line, Take Chandler East Towards Burbank,
give me a call
323-574-0341, and I'll direct you to the ride.
If you get lost during the ride and need to find the ride, you can call the same number. Have the streets you are by noted, so I know where to give you directions from.

Listen for the AIRHORN, at the Haunted Houses, that is the signal that we are leaving in one minute. Big Bike Dan will play it at the beginning of the ride, so you are familiar with it.
Stay behind, Peter Pan. Peter, Tinkerbell and his bicycle play group, will be leading the ride.

Night went overall, pretty damned well.
A big thanx to Julia(?) for giving my friend Mike a lift back to the park.
Apparently, some dipshit jacked his Giant BMX bike that he was riding all night from the front yard of the house party.
Wasn't a real expensive rig, but people would usually be shot for shit like that.
But other than that, cool route, cool haunted house, cool liqour stops, Limeyfly going ballistic with that Brit accent of his, dual bike boomboxes, a light sprinkle, and in the words of FatBoy Slim,
"It's A Wondeful Night, Gotta Take it from Me!!!"
