I've crashed on several rida floors and spare beds and been offered many more.
The sad reality of SD and LA is there aren't as many SD folks who come up and get in on the MR goodness. So there are fewer of us who are inspired to open their homes. I'm really hoping this ride will improve that. Ludi and I would put up more peeps, but we only have so much space. I'm not sure about Katie K or others that have been up there and what their space is like. But I figure as more of us here meet more of you up there, the love will spread and things will get better.
truth is they never asked, i got room for like 2 or 3, on the floor, is better than nothing, but im kinda out of the way though. THIS SUCKS LIVING IN FUCKIN PASADENA, SHIT !!!!

BTW, for those of you taking the Surfliner Amtrak:
If they fill up the bike racks, and I think there's only a few, then they'll make you box your bike, and they can be shitheads about that if you don't arrive early. I went cross country on Amtrak and had to postpone my trip because I "only" arrived an hour ahead of time and that wasn't "enough" time to box my bike.

I go up to LA on the fluffaliner often and if the racks fill up, they let me put my bike in the baggage compartment whole, sans box. If you treat them well, they are usually very cool.
Also, if you are buying tickets and have a AAA card, it's cheaper. But you have to buy them 3 days in advance, so do it tonight, or tomorrow.
Should save you $6-8 round trip. Hey, that's beer money mangggggg!!!
I'll never funderstand why some of you are so averse to taking the train to S.D. Amtrak California rules; it's nothing like the interstate Amtrak lines where they make it stupidly inconvenient to bring a bike.
Anyway, I'm taking the train Caturday morning as well.

I'm with you, PC. SD is one of the few places that are actually convenient by train in California, and I have no idea why someone would want to squeeze into a small car that is full to capacity and drive down there when they could take a train, on which you can walk around, go to the bathroom, comfortably read, etc.
if more people want to go, i can drive. i have room for a bike with the wheels taken off in my trunk and i have a rack that can hold three. so thats 4 bikes total, which is me + 3. if you guys pay for gas we can roll together. otherwise i dont think ill go. let me know.

Apparently, if we have more than 75 (seventy-five) Ridazz® we are required to obtain a permit through the Dept. of Awesome. Last I heard, the cost of the permits was about three hugs and a giggle. Due to inflation, that might have gone up. There are rumors that they now cost in upwards of 4 hugs. Outrageous!

don't ride through camp pendleton. It's a waste of time. Just take the freeway.....at the end of the bike path/ landing strip, take a right. go under the freeway and then get on the freeway. Its about seven miles.

tomato i have one you can use. i dont know how you would get it though because i live in ventura county. it holds three bikes and the parts that touch the car are all padded and wont scratch it. at least it hasnt scratched mine yet and ive had it over a year.
well i'd only bring my bike if i could ride on your tandem (since i can't ride on a reg bike-injuries too sore- and my roommate doesn't have her own bike)..but if you can't bring it i totally understand.
in that case, i could still borrow rbi's rack, take mike and his bike, my roommate and maybe load some other bikes for others (depending on the size of the rack) and i'd have at least another open seat (could squeeze two) if anyone needs.
