Just posted this on the calendar, but we're the Midnight Ridazz Burning Man camp are having a get together Tuesday, June 17th at 7pm at Tren Way (4167 Tren Way, LA 90065). We're going to be showing a movie about Burning Man and talking about our plans for the camp. this is the first time Midnight Ridazz is having an official camp there and we have some ambitious plans. So it's a fundraiser, $3 at the door and we'll have some cheap beer too.

We ARE the Midnight Ridazz camp!
In our American dream, people move by pedal power. Ride on in with
your unicycle, bicycle, tricycle, or whatever you roll with. We “organize” bike tours, and partake in bike decoration, DIY bike
repairs, bike blessings and more bike geek talk than you can shake an Allen wrench at.
The Midnight Ridazz camp consists of American Dreamers who picture a future driven by pedal power. The camp will promote bicycling culture in the form of theme rides (Best Playa Bars, Camps of the Rich and Famous, Art Rides), do-it-yourself bike repair, barter-based bicycle decoration and scheduled bicycle blessings. The camp will serve as a gathering place for everyone who pedals, from bike fanatics to newbie bicycle riders. As we say on our group bike rides, "No Ridazz left behind!" Our members are experienced in both the Burning Man community and the bicycling community, and hope to offer a fun, friendly, bike-centric camp for all.

Allan = Closest Goldline Station is the Lincoln Cypress Station. Take San Fernando Rd north up to Verdugo Rd and make a right. Turn Left on Eagle Rock Blvd up to Verdugo Rd again. Make a left on Verdugo Rd. and then a right on York. then, go left on Ave 42 which splits into Tren Way. Google Map Instructions
Also - How did you make all that Popcorn for the Salton Sea Screening, Allan? I have an electric Burner and paper bags. Just a big pot, popcorn, and oil? I don't want to burn or "Borfo" the precious popcorn.
I did my best to cover it up on Sat.(that and lots o' alcohol). I must of hit an oil spill, my tires went right out from under me like fastlike and my shoulder onto the concrete (dead on). There is a bump inbetween my neck and shoulder. May be a break.

if you don't have insurance you should try county.. the free clinic by USC you may have to wait 8 hours but hey, it's free! just dont tell them you have a job or anything. that place doesnt ask you for your SSN they jsut ask you IF you have one.. you can easily say no. i was referred by another free clinic doc. to get a CT scan after my spill.. waited in line with crack heads, homeless, and orange jumpsuits hahaha but better than paying $800 for stitches... take care
You guys probably don't know me, but I'd like to attend the BM awareness night. It would also be cool to meet some of the other ridazz in the neighborhood. Hopefully, I get out of the office on time.
Hey Borfo & Allan....wouldn't it be a little safer to take Cypress Ave to Eagle Rock Blvd? That stretch of San Fernando Blvd. is not very bike friendly. Plus the bike lane starts up in Cypress Park and continues all the way through Eagle Rock Blvd.

BM aWareness Night was a success!!! The turnout was waaaay more than I expected so we totally killed the keg! I'm still kind of in pain from all that drinking!!! It was a great night and the moon was all kinds of pretty, awww....

Last night was so exciting! Thank you everyone for coming and showing interest. I'm excited that you're excited! We are totally going to MAKE IT HAPPEN, and I can't imagine doing it with a cooler group of peeps.

Burning man is a festival. There are no planned concerts. Lots of DJ's spinning at huge outdoor dance clubs. I hate techno but at bman they don' tplay the same stupid club shit you hear everywhere its a higher class of techno and its bearable for the no-techno fan.
Burning man is full of hippies... REAL hippies and by REAL i mean DIRTY.
Beisdes the few places that sell ice and cofee there is nothing else topurchase at burnng man. Everyone brings all the food and water and alcohol (and drugs) that they need for the whole week.
There is a culture of gifting and bartering at burning man which means if you have stuff to trade (and sometime even if you don't) you will never go without. Once again REAL HIPPIES.
Bikes at burning man are king. The even takes place on a giant, FLAT, sandy desert bed and is quite large. Bike are the best mode of transport at burning man and you will see thousands of them. Some of the craziest freak bikes you've ever seen.
There was a tallbike crew there last year from L.A.. They had a crazy old pirate ship built on top of a car with a rack for bikes and they just drove around the site all day picking up strangers with a fighter squadron of tall bikes encircling them. BEST THING I EVER SAW IN MY LIFE.
Other highlight from last year include the fairly accurate recreation of thunderdome from the mad max movies complete with GIANT geosesic dome with nightly bungie jousting matches.
To summarize: ITS FUN! YOU SHOULD GO! Camping in 110 degree heat that forces you to leave your tent every day at 8am is the best way to start a day of drunken bicycling.
When the sun goes down bman looks like the apocaplyspe. Seriously you gotta see it.

This movie was AWESOME!!! An exhilarating thrill machine that goes from 0 to 50 in the opening minutes and never lets up. It will have you on the edge of your seat in the first five minutes!!!!
