May 12-16, 2008 is celebrated around the country as Bike to Work Week and on Thursday, May 15, 2008, local cyclists will converge on Hollywood and Western in a demonstration of cycling solidarity.
The Hollywood and Western Pit Stop is hosted by illuminateLA and will offer refreshments, swag and encouragement to cyclists from 6 am to 9:00 am followed by a ride to City Hall.

If you are riding your bike, pushing your shopping cart full of bottles and cans, taking the bus, driving your hummer, whatever, stop by the Bike Oven at 3706 N. Figueroa Street between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. for free hot chocolate and pan dulce.
One dude from the Oven will be there to help tune up your bike, then he has to leave to go to work while you continue on your Bike to Not Work Day celebration-ing with other Ridazz.

To get to the ride...take the 10 freeway east from LA area (west from the IE), exit Indian Hill, go North (left), right on bonita, left on college, right on tenth. or mapquest it.
This ride is anywhere from 25-35 miles, at a decent speed. (medium-fast; kind of like the 'hot' between 'medium' and 'super-hot' at shitty fast food taco places).
We will never leave a rider behind, but please, be prepared to ride fast. One or two stops along the way for yum...

Unofficial Victor Valley Critical Mass, or Manners due to the people involved

Well, I finally received word of this from an LBS up here in Victimville, there are some cyclists that are concerned for their road safety.
I'm calling this an "Unofficial Critical Mass" due to the ride description sounding eerily similar, but the organizers not really knowing what one is, or afraid to admit that they know what one is.
Anywho, this ride will start at the Lowe's on Bear Valley/Mariposa at approxiametely, 6PM.
It will go from there, down towards the Target Shopping Center at the corner of Bear Valley/Apple Valley Rd's.
