Heyo.. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the 9th of March is the 2nd Friday of the month, and consequently there should be and LA Midnight Ridazz happening?
I'm in town with my bike for that night only, and I want to see how it compares to cruising around Sydney, Australia..
reply
Working on it.... it will happen. it will be fun. stay tuned.... I guess it's my turn to throw one. anyone wanna help me?

How about the Fly By Night ride.
We ride west, riding to the top of all the highest parking structures en route, finally ending at a big disastrous loop around and through LAX.

Oh, and like I posted a few days ago, even though it seems to have disappeared, we should do a warriors ride one of these days. Start and end at the SM pier, 27 miles...

If we are going to do a Warriors ride, Instead of meeting at the Pier, we meet at a park like Griffth, Balboa or Perishing Square, and then
we fight our way back to the Pier. OR Maybe we could have someone who is jealous of Roadblock kill him
and they can blame the Trenways for killing Roadblock. They'll say "it was the Trenways, the Trenways
killed Roadblock" Instead of going to the pier, the trenways have to fight their way back to Eagle Rock.
We go back to our neighborhoods on the way to Eagle Rock and fight the Trenways. No, instead of fighting them
we make them do bike competitions to get through our neighborhoods. No I don't like the idea of Roadblock
getting killed. No better yet, lets dress up like the different gangs in the Warriors movie.
We meet at a park and Roadblock get up and talk like Cyrus, we tells us how we can get
all the bicyclist together and take over the city. Then we ride to the pier

I like either idea, Mad Max or Warriors.
Both sound like good ideas to me, oh.
Someone commit to the idea, because I'm into both ideas, and I need time to make and work on my costume for either idea, yeah. ok.

I got an idea even better! "The Opposite Sex ride" you can't ride unless you pair up with a friend of the opposite sex!
oh.
I like the one where I get killed
Roadblock02.28.07 - 8:23 pm
reply
Roadblock
Nobody wants to see you get killed. It just goes with the story line in the movie.
If we where going to play out the night that way, it would be those daylight crawler you talk about. They are crazy.
Then you could ride around and be a ghost rider. You could play 3 different roles of ghost. Of ridazz past, present and future.
You could pick certain ridaz and show them what ridazz was in the past with them, with other ridazz, what it is now because of them and then with others, what it could be depending upon what they do to make ridazz what it will be in future
The opposite sex ride, that not fair to all us single people, it's like a couples ride and all the single people get left out. Unless the singles get a date before hand and then it would be like a singles ride, but you actually find the date before the ride and then it wouldn't be all awkward. and,.,,,,,,,,,,,,,aaahhhh I see what your doing. Your making a singles ride where it not uncomfortable and then nobody would feel stupid and because the single people couple up before the ride just to go on the ride and aahhh-ha you Cupid Roadblock,
again you have baffled me with your brillance

I know I know
I'm reading more into then there is. Its just opposite sex ride, it said nothing about dates. Just trying to spice it all up.

LOL!
I'm just trying to keep the character of this ride more egalitarian. I guess it's impossible not to draw a sexual references to it though but hey I mean... c'mon put out the effort ask a friend of the opposite sex to empower themselves with bicycles. dont be skurd. eh... oh.

I want whatever sexy's on.. damn dude... but yeah, I like the idea of a park to the sea... maybe like highland park or something, cause alot of the others mentioned are too close, only like 8 miles or so, or we could turn it into some sort of all city ride, converge in the park like said...
then wolfpack (and whoever else wants to) has to hustle to the pier...

Eh mate, or maters, take the high road and just call it the Couples ride. Then individuals like even Toby won't feel unwelcome.
Then have (or suggest) that everyone ride two up down the streets like the police prefer and let them see how long a procession this would cause.

Hey, we tried that once before! (See #29 "Double Trouble: The Twin Ride"). It was a good idea, even though I think the pairing up thing lasted maybe a block or two, ha ha. Of course, the other "twin" part of that ride was that the route doubled back on itself.
mr rollers03.1.07 - 8:31 am
reply
Yeah, pick a theme already.
I get that Mad Max has a macho thing to it. But Mad Max theme can incorporate anything post-apocalypse, so Tank Girl would fit right in. So a Mad Max & Tank Girl ride would be awesome.
A Warriors themed ride is a non issue. One of the gangs in the Warriors are the Lizzies. Check it yo: http://warriorsmovie.co.uk/gangs/
um, yeah. whatever. I'm just going to dress up like Santa anyway. Post-apocalypse Santa Gang anyone?

see my poin tis not to make it a dating experience or some sort of singles ride... so can we stop looking at the idea in that way? it's merely to bring a member of the opposite sex. that's it. girls go find a guy to bring... guys go find a girl. has nothing to do with sexual orientation it has nothing to do with being single or hooking up...... right now the balance is heavily leaning toward males. a problem with cycling in general. . and all that testosterone I think fucks up the egalitarian principles of the ride. I dont want females to feel like they cant or dont desire to ride along. that doesnt help bicycle culture the way the ride used to in the past when it was run almost entirely by females....

i see what Roadblock is saying. I find that a serious issue too. Tren Way BG doesn't have that problem, fortunately. Our Male/Female ratio is about 50/50. We have more ladies than some gangs have members.
the male dominance thing is something that just happens when it comes to "sports". I don't view bike culture as a sport, but a LOT of people do. Go ask felipe, or whoever the hell that guy is. And the people that complain that MR has too many stops or is too slow or whatever they like to cry about. Most of us that get it, do the best we can. Lack of Ladies ride, anyone?
But just like the bar, party or club, scene - it's almost always a sausage fest.

Angle, Use that idea for a future Midnight Ridazz. Roadblock has made a decision: We are the armies of the night! The Warriors Ride!
Boys and Girls, get your costumes ready. The High Hat's, The Furies, The Armadillos, The Fluffers, Tren Way and the rest. We are going to converge together and ride out to battle at the final destination!

Firstly, Roadblock fuckin rules the gang! It's his posting and his ride. It cracks me up how many suggestions there are to change the ride; if you want to do a MM ride, on the West Side and have an Aussie guest of honor cool...post a ride!
If you've seen the movie the idea is to get through the City alive, through rival gangs, dark city streets and bad ass chicks with too much make up. If we start off and go through the west side we're talking about makin it through starbuck mini malls, valet parking lines and yoga chicks with big nails.
Roadblock had a great idea and I'm glad it's sticking! I appreciate the egalitiarian attitude but the dude put some good thought into this (and it fuckin rocks).
Also - Any of the hot sexy gals I've brought along had only one complaint - not enough bathroom stops for chicks; now we're not talking the fixed gear gals that can squat on the drop of a dime, but there are some ladies who can' hold their beer and booze as well as us dudes and can't whip it out as easily.
