Where are we doing this? Does anyone have a back yard? What about a park? What about AT North Hollywood Park? How about we ride Mulholland up to that hiking area, hike to a spot, eat and then head to the Big Ass Ride (B.A.R.).
How about a pot luck?
And before anyone says it, no, I don't mean like Cub Cakes.

awww... but.. cub cakes...
I *could* bring out the B(ike)BQ... howevers, I'd still like to keep the grill itself vegan, and as I am broke like a water main flooding your basement, there's no way I can feeds people, I cant even feeds myself.

Yo!
I talked with a guy who has a warehouse in Frogtown (between Riverside Drive and the L.A. River) and is opening it for the Frogtown Artwalk on August 25, 2007.
Why don't we have the party for the ride there? I've already committed to buying pinatas and leading an Eastside contigent to this guy's place?
Here is a description of the event:
"Frogtown Artwalk is this Sat. August 25th from 5 to 11 PM. Paul Redmond Photography has a photo studio right next to the bike path. I'm opening up his studio for bicycle people to come in for photos. The studio will be the hub of activity for anyone on two wheels. This is a party/awareness raising event with the Bike Oven to coordinate riders from the Eastside to show up, inform, and inspire people about bicycling in L.A. Lot's of art, design, music and events happening as well.

I don't think the Frogtown thing should preclude having a pre-party in NoHo, but I can guarantee a good time to be had by all in Frogtown.
Whatchu want to do?

I saw Paul Redmond's studio at last year's artwalk. It's a cool space in a cool building with about a dozen artist lofts. Real artists in real lofts not that phony downtown shit. They have a huge backyard that opens up to the LA river. And there is an island with a nice sandy beach right there. No joke.
See you there. 6ish...???

well, I was thinkin NoHo...
I'll get the shit fixed tomorrow. I'll have it ready (it's just a busted panier and a new styrofoam cooler (the last one got pretty destroyed on the 4th), shouldn't take long to fix... I'll see if I can find enough scrap wood to do it.
if it's not happening, I'll let y'all know ahead of time.

this whole discussing two things is getting a little confusing i dont want to sound mean but the people talking about doing the frogtown thing should start a seperate bullitin.

Marino - 6 p.m. at the studio?
I'll post a ride that starts at the new Bike Oven spot at 5:30 p.m. and ends at the spot at 6p.m.
I am going to buy some pinatas to light on fire and destroy. I have a few kiddie bikes from the last Spoke(n)Art party too so there's kiddie bike racing and mayhem on the menu now too.
Aight - cool. Frogtownzz where it is at.

"6 p.m. at the studio?"
Hmm...
I guess we should hang out there 5-7pm then roll out by 7:30 to be in NoHo by 8:30
I'll bring chorizzo, peppers, tomatoes and carne asada.
Those who only eat faux meat can do their own thing in NoHo.
Those who eat real meat and real vegetables go hunting by the river.
