wanna ride?
I just got back to motorcycling after three years.
nothing fancy: '02 Kawasaki zr-7s.
I rode to Hollywood bike night last night (I saw the Hollywood burrito project roll by), and I realized that I was nowhere near the level of the stunt riders with their high-end sportbikes and street fighters.
day trip anyone?

Funny,
I just got my learner's permit so i could buy a small motorcycle. (i've only ridden a couple of times) and was thinking of taking the Motorcycle course. Then this girl i'm crazy about from college did ALC 6, and all my thoughts, time (and money) have gone into bicycling. I don't regret it for one second. Met a shit-load of great people here and have gotten into shape, something the motorcycling wouldn't have provided (the exercising part).
I still want to get a cheap bike and learn to ride but thats a back-burner for me now.

I saw some fart knockers on motorcycles last night. Funny thing was they were standing some shity parking lot instead of riding.

I ride a 2004 SV650. I've been organizing motorcycle group rides for years. (That's why I was willing to organize a Midnight Ridazz ride or two after only participating in a couple rides.)
I haven't gone on one in months, but the people I would ride with on a regular basis were really great, safe, responsible, mature riders. We ride the canyons all the time, but we never race or do stunts on public roads because, well, only loser assholes ride that way and endanger the lives of other people.
There are a few websites in the LA area where people post up motorcycle group rides. But, it can be difficult to find the quality websites with responsible riders. Most of them are sportbike kids who think they are all Valentino Rossi.
Anyone out there wants to learn to ride motorcycles, THIS LINK is a great place to start.

That ride of yours pretty easy to handle?
I've had my M1 endorsement for a few years and I need to get my hands on a long-distance machine.

Big Gay Al, it's easy to call people names in a forum that they don't even visit. I'd like to see you call the stunt riders fart knockers to their faces.
as if there isn't a whole lot of standing around in parking lots with Midnight Ridazz. it's called socializing.
for those who want to ride motorcycles, that's an awesome link, Mikey.
I really liked http://www.pashnit.com for their ride ideas.

we choose to see what we want to see.
I see a hint of jealousy and lost youth in your replies. I bet you still want to ride motorcycles.
Big Gay Al, you're keeping it real when you load your car with your bicycle and drive from Long Beach nearly every weekend.

Here's my last motorcycle, I sold it about two years ago. 1971 BSA A65 650cc. From now on, it will be pedal power only. Rode motorcycles for a very long time though.

I've got a '97 Harley Davidson FXD (Superglide). Use to ride a lot but had to make a choice between riding it, mountain biking or road cycling. Something had to give, unfortunately it was the Harley and the Vespas. There isn't enough time to do all but having the option is nice.
