Ride off that hangover ...
We'll start in the early afternoon near a metro station, ride about 15-20 miles at an easy pace. Stop for snacks/ coffee somewhere and get dinner at the end (also near a metro station).
I'm inviting everyobody to bring a bike bell and play it at will.
I am hoping we can have some spontainous bike bell jams.
Nothing formal, just some people on the move making some beautiful noise.
You can also just show up and ride.

Sounds like fun. I'm all for rides with bicycle bell improvisation, more so in the daylight hours.
Which metro station? I'd vote for the closest one to me which is Memorial Park on the Goldline. But I'd likely go if it was anywhere between Wilshire/Western and Sierra Madre.

New Years Day!
Last year we left met at 2p rode at 2:30 and finished just after sundown.
Last year we started at Hollywood/ Vine and ended near Union Station.
We have a few weeks to nail down the start point and time but it will be somwhere here in metro LA.

We have an official start time/ location:
Hollywood/ Highland 2pm. (we will ride at 2:30).
The Idea of rolling during daylight is that we can take advantage of the warmth generating sun and crisp winter weather.
If you get to bed at 4a this gives you 8 hours to sleep, and 2 hours to get your shit together and get to Hollywood and Highland to ride your bike.

Assuming they are open, Philippe's French Dip is always a great place to stop in China Town, and close to the Metro.

Hello Everyone!
I just got home from spending several hours at the Olympia Hospital Medical Center.
Whoever called 911. Thanks!!! I can't believe how fast that ambulance got there.
I have 11 stitches in my left eyebrow, and I broke my left big toe. My left eye is a beautiful shade of purple, and I have been told that my right eye will probably be purple tomorrow.
I am very grateful to Al (Digable Soul) and Sharon who kept me together and helped gather my family members for me.

It's good to hear you're doing well. I gotta tell you... seeing the whole thing. I never yelled out "rider down" like that until today. There were other's that helped on stopping the bleeding. Thanks to them and also to Patrick and the group that stayed behind w/ their boy.
Lol... do you remember asking if your bike was all right when you were sitting on the curb?
Either way... heal up quickly and get on that saddle!!

Hope you heal fast bikemama.
That was quite the spill, but you took it like a tough cookie for sure.
Asking about your bike was the classic post-crash cyclist line.

Wishing you a quick recovery! I hope you continue to come out on rides when you get better so i can provide you with more hand warmers on the cold night rides!

Bike Mom: You are such a trooper. I have to hand it to you for remaining relitivly cool during such a painful and chaotic situation. Wishing you a very quick recovery. Please let us know when you are ready to ride again.
Next time we will have to hit that juice/ popcicle shop on san vicente.

I am actually doing fine. I will have a scar on my left eye for quite a while (forever?), but I was very lucky to not have hurt myself much worse. I am hoping to make it to the next Saturday night ride.
Thank you for asking! :)
