Is anybody considering staying at a hotel while in San Diego? I was looking at sidestep.com and found reasonably priced rooms. Days inn 1.9 miles from the start of the ride. for $89, there is a Super 8 for $70, 2.5 miles away. There are nicer hotels for $129-$179, but they are big building enclosed building, that you have bring your bike through the lobby to get to your room.
start location is 3151 University Ave. San Diego, 92104
might be good to get the end point location, if that info is available.

I bring up the hotel, because it would be good, if all hotel dwellers stayed at the same place.

I remember getting a hotel room with some friends in Vegas one time.
We all chipped in for single occupancy of a double room, and just made sure no one saw the additional people.
Not quite sure how that works now.
If they still charge per-person, or one-charge regardless of how many are in your party.
Last time I slept in a hotel room, it was in Decatur, GA on Swift's tab.

some of us got rooms at Hotel Circle, which is about 3 or 4 miles away, all uphill, barefoot.

is hotel circle the name of the hotel, or the area. If area, what hotel did you get rooms at?

Hotel Circle is the area, a circular street with a bunch of motels & hotels. Extended Stays? I can't remember. It was $49 on some hotel booking website. I can't remember that detail either.
ok... i took the time to look it up, and no. I'm not going to edit it..
I got them through www.hotwire.com , searched for San Diego, then Mission Valley - Hotel Circle, got the cheapest on at $49... they wont tell you the name when you order it... don't know why,... after booking it, the hotel ended up being the Extended Stay @ Hotel Circle.

Recalling all the trips to San Diego from my early years, that would most likely be near the Qualcomm Stadium place.
This is basically right off the 15 southbound, if I'm correct.
Nah, the last time I was in San Diego was last year.
Except I took the 8 getting there, and the 5 getting out of there on the rig.
I actually parked my rig in Otay Mesa(right smack on the border fence) rode to the bus-stop, took the bus to get up/down the freeway, then rode all over downtown.

I see how that works, interesting how hotwire works. It $94 if you don't gamble it, but the $49 room is right where you said the hotel is. I like the extended stay hotels,
I thought it would be wheret Bentstrider says, but if you look at the map you can't find the stadium. I stayed in that area by the stadium before. It was good for a ball game, but sucked for everything else. It doesn't matter, we make everything dueable.

The ending point is at the corner of broadway and harbor drive in downtown san diego. There is a hostel downtown. The after party is about 2 miles from ending point.

Man, I would hate to have to back up to Hotel Circle, let alone after a long night of riding.
