Anyone have a private parking lot that could house a 35' long RV for a while? I'm willing to rent a spot somewhere if someone has one. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I just got kicked out of my free parking area.
Thanks!
good luck box dwellers, I have had a few friend who have taken on the life style you are embarking on. I think I mentioned this to your partner when you folks where planning on the purchase, I was nayed and I decided you would find out for yourself, plus I didn't want to be a buzzkill.
It is real hard to keep those things parked on the street, with out police harassment, due to possible vagrancy violations.
My suggestion. Look into a trailer park. I don't know the cost, but I have been to a few around town, that rent out spots to RV's. They usually have rec rooms (oh yeah) that could come in handy. Plus you get electric, water and sewage hookup.
Some people rent out the sides of their houses for just this purpose. Look at the usual spots you already know,
Here in the People's Republic of Venice there are RVs parked on my street just about every day. They don't seem to get too much hassle as far as I can tell but you may wanna keep an ear to the law.
come on now, try harder with the insults. Funanu did good, with suggesting I dress as Barf from spaceball, but this misspelling of "do" or "due". I expect so much more from you Marcus.
Use the dictionary, before trying to call someone on a mis-use of a word.
Ruin the fun of creative character, by trying to figure out, who the person behind the character is. When you could instead, just enjoying the creativity of the character.
If you don't mind the valley, I almost always see one parked by this park on Riverside by the 134(?) I think. Right near the Disney Channel building. Not sure what the restrictions are if any, but I normally roll by around 10 and its there.
I would've said seek out a truckstop, but there aren't too many of those within vicinity of the Westside.
Only one's that are there are stop'n'go's for fuel and weigh-in's.
Places like the Pilot, Flying J, and Petro have plenty of spaces and no one will bother you there if you keep your mouth shut and change positions every, once in a while.
Only problem is, all three of these places are at 50+ miles away from the Westside at the very least.
With this option all, but totally eliminated, we're down to my next pick, distribution centers.
I've delivered to a few places in the general, LA-vicinity during my last, OTR-experience.
Many places I delivered to had appointment times, which meant we had to park nearby in order to come back and get unloaded/loaded later.
If you are able to spot a congregation of 48'-53' trailers with a Pete, Mack, Volvo, Freightshaker, Western Star, or any other type of tractor attached to them, find a spot nearby, and join 'em.
Chances are likely that:
A)They're waiting in line to be unloaded/loaded
B)Rare, but the driver might actually live nearby and has managed to park in that particular location without any harassment from the given Heat.
I hope my tutorial will be of some assistance in your campaign against the KV-Virus, and it's unfortunate victims.
The law won't allow any vehicle over 22' to be stopped on a residential streeet. If on a commercial street, it can't be parked for more than 3 hours. With my RV being 35' long, i am just askin for trouble. But I like trouble (for now) so maybe i will :D
There are parts of Wilmington where you can pretty much park your RV forever and nobody will complain. You could die and nobody would find your body for months. Sound good?
I talked to a parking enforcement officer just the other day and he told us about this one RV that hadn't been moved in months. It was finally towed and sold at public auction. The winner had to open up the locked door, and inside they found a dead man. Died of natural causes, but had been dead for more than a month. Gross. But good deal ;)
Richie, I lived in an old schoolbus with a few friends on the streets for over a year and the best place we found to park was venice. If you park on residential streets, the neighbors can complain to the police but they won't do anything about it until the complaints have been coming in for a week or more. Then they usually just check you out to see what you're up to and if you're a legitimate concern. If you're nice and friendly with them, they'll leave you alone for as long as they can until the neighbors get some sort of petition through some sort of system. Then they give you 24 or 48 hours (can't remember which) to move your RV or they'll move it for you. For us it was as simple as moving it to another neighborhood or onto venice blvd for a few nights. People are pretty friendly with the nomads around venice and sometimes they even offered us an extension cable to plug into their electricity in exchange for a few bucks now and then. What ever you do, go out of your way to be friendly with the people in whatever neighborhood you park or it ALWAYS leads to trouble.
Parking enforcement and LAPD is starting to crack down on the RV's on Riverside and Myra. They are advising RV's to rent space at Dockweiler or other RV facilities.
Apparently some RV's have been dumping their sewage down city storm drains.

damm Marcus, I was feeling really bummed out there, for a moment. I really thought, I used the word properly. That message was really nice, it a no wonder so many girls adore you. I guess it must be about what part of the coast you live off of.
Happy Valentine Day!
don't take the diamond, some kind in Africa arm's will fall off.
Richie, i can't believe you are leaving our hood for good. It won't be the same. And what about Westside Den Dinners? I foresee future dinners happening at the Ridgeway part of town more often. Will it really be left to Stevex3, Spook, me and Watermelon to host now? Will i see you as often? I'm not getting any sleep at nights now.
I can't believe its taken me this long to realize who you are. Before i joined this community, we've spoken a number of times over the years on the phone. I even have in my data base that you were a Scotty Logan recommend at one point - and i haven't worked or spoken with that wild and crazy guy since 2000 i'm guessing. (He and i did that shitty A Smile Like Yours movie in San Fran back in 97).
We'll have to compare notes when you get back from Salt lick Sea.
It wasn't until i saw the post that your brought in the Porta Potties to Salten Sea that i figured it out. Only a locations person or PM would think to do that. Did you bring yellow corrugated signs too?
Thanks for digging that up sexy.
Basically all it says is that it's ******OK******* to park oversize vehicles unless there are posted signs prohibiting it.
Obviously most streets don't have such signs.
Stevo4 let's talk on one of the rides.
I can't believe you had my database software. That's why I got out of the desktop software business. Goddam bootleggerzz.
I don't know if this helps, but I live in Los Feliz and there are always RVs parked on Talmadge in front of ABC Studios. They are definately not studio rigs as they are pretty beat up and graffiti covered but no one ever seems to make them move....
Let me clarify. I found your name/number, etc. in MY database of contacts. I have over 5,000 contacts in my address book that i've collected since i got into this business in 88. I wasn't aware you had created database software.
