"Bike More" Postcard

I just wanted to get your guys opinion on the following 4x6 promotional flyers that will hopefully swell our ranks. I guess the target group is young people. These could be passed out to nearby pedestrians during a ride, other people you meet at a bike rack, people in cars waiting as you cork, etc. Anytime really.
Also, I'd like to get the blessing from folks like
digablesoul and
garyseven whose pictures I have used in the image strips. I hope you guys are okay with it, and if deemed necessary, I could add a small byline on the back of the card that says "photos by". If I jacked anyone else's pictures, please let me know what name to credit you under.

You forgot C.R.A.N.K. Mob details on the back. Every 1st Saturday after the 3rd friday of the month. Nothing difficult about that.

Very good call. It's learnin time!!
Watch out, you have a double space between 'out' & 'more' in the 'You guys are crazy' section.

Hey, that looks great!!! When do these get printed, and how do we get some? We do a lot of outreach, so we can really help get these circulated.

Yeah we should get a good close up of these before it goes to the printers, yeah?

Awesome idea to put together.
I don't have time to look over very close on content, but from a purely design standpoint, I feel like back is strongest right now. The orientation of things on the front seems a little weird to me, and I think colors from stripes on back are a better color combination. The type face on welcome to LA sign feels odd because it is much weaker (less bold) then type faces that are used on road signs, which need to be read quickly and from afar.
I hope I don't offend any one with my design school anal retentiveness, and feel free to toss these suggestions out. What ever happens I think this is a great idea and it's looking pretty good so far.

There's also a space between the "WHAT" and the "?!?" and the "LA" and the "?" right there in the first line. And possibly other extra spaces and typos but I haven't looked closely, so maybe just go over it.
But I'm LOVING this idea. Kudos for stepping up. I agree with Gary about the layout of the back working well. I'm not going to whip out my design school anal retentiveness about fonts though... cuz... I mean, for what this is (a quick message to inform the public about this little community) it does the job. Fixing typos is probably a good idea though.
Now, if you'd LIKE some major design & layout criticism, I'm sure it can be offered. After all, graphic designer is one of the official professions of those riders who aren't
unemployed.(The german font DIN works well for road signage if you're really going to get all technical like that)... but I also understand that we're not trying to get any awards for design here, and 99.9% of the population isn't gonna give a damn. So, it's up to you whether you want to experience a full on critique.
Anyway, love this, with or without the nitpicking.

All excellent tips, thanks a lot people. The few small things like the spacing I would have never caught, I've been staring at these for way too long to notice such subtle things.
Good points Gary, I do have too much color going on, I'll stick w/ the same 3 stripes I have on the back. Will bump up text on "Welcome to LA".
I may have to leave Crank Mob out of the lower left corner, it simply takes too much damn text to explain when it happens. I considered taking CrankMob.com off since you guys need some design help (cough). Same thing w/ Angelopes, I'll throw it on there, but clean up that website, throw some content (aggregate tagged pics from Flickr!).
I am getting only 300 done from some expensive eco-friendly place in Berkeley (GreenerPrinter.com), then I'll probably get many many many more from a cheap local source.

Great idea, but Gary and Liz nailed it. Design does matter, this is about PR after all. Plus, we are in an industry town, more thought into the execution will be appreciated!
Perhaps some more input from the designers up in this piece?

I've got some input for you: don't worry about the design. It's fine. Your design school professor isn't grading you on this shit. Fix the typos and get that thing out there, because it kicks ass.

Speaking of typos, you probably shouldn't capitalize "Ride" in "A great place to ride" unless you're going to capitalize all the words in the sentence. Maybe you could render "RIDE" in all caps if you're trying to emphasize the word?
"A great place to RIDE."
Or not. Whatever. Don't spend the rest of your life trying to fix it, because it's pretty goddamn good as it is.

I agree with the sentiment to "just get it out there," but I also agree that the back "works" much better than the front.
I'm not trained in designy stuff, but if it were my project to obsess over, I'd just get rid of the right-hand strip of images on the front, because the images don't seem to have a peaceful coexistence with the text. Nice photos and all, but clashy attention hogs, as well.
Beyond that, I don't have much in the way of criticism except to say "awesome" - it makes us look so clean-cut and legit!

#1, EVERYONE will have an opinion. There will be some overall opinions that are generally accepted with design but after that it's your baby and looks great.
I'm a firm believer of Keeping it simple and uncluttered. The back looks nice. My suggestion is to just list the MR website, Bikeboom, or other website where multiple events/rides take place. All the others are ride specific whereas MR, BB, etc. give the viewer an overview of all the rides going on and will get the reader to the ride's specific website. That way you don't piss anyone off because you left their ride off and you provide the most information in the limited amount of space.
Nice job. Looking forward to spreading the word!

maybe I was misunderstood... but I agree that this is fine as it is (after the typo fixes)... I was just sayin, if criticism is ever desired, there are many individuals in this community who could probably offer assistance... but it's not needed. This is great and gets the job done.
I was also going suggest that Ride is changed to RIDE or set in all lower case, as PC suggested... I was just trying hard to bite my tongue.
BUT THAT'S IT! I swear, it's perfect otherwise. Good work my friend.

This is a great idea I'm so tired of tell people "midnightriders,RIDAZZ.com" as I ride around L.A. now we can just give them a nice little card.It would also be great if someone designed a spoke card we could leave in bike spokes at the bike rack or other places with that same kind of info.Kind of the same way people leave pizza coupons on the gate of your house,or under the wiper blade of a car.

About the photo credit issue I am down my photos being there, and in the context of this being a montage of many photos I don't mind pics being there uncredited. If a card was made where one of my photos was clearly a primary image then I might want a tag-line somewhere.

or perhaps we could have the Midnight Ridazz logo embossed on a ball peen hammer so we could leave a little calling card on the hood of any offensive driver who cuts us off.

UPDATED VERSION ]
The only thing that may change are some of the images used on the front. Got rid of some info on the back that was too specific.
How do you guys want the high-res version? Rasterized or EPS pdf?
I will start distributing these in a couple of weeks at various rides, I'll let people from different parts of town spread them around.

Just a few thoughts. Take em or leave em.
Like the funky colors and kinda vintage feel to them. Works well. I'd consider using them more. The light blue on white doesn't pop as well, especially in that !@#$?. The message on the front is clear, but it could be more I think. I read "Welcome to Los Angeles, A great place to ride...What?!? Yup. crazy! fun!" Maybe just pull out on the photo in the bottom left and show more bike. I don't think you need "Flip this bad boy over" simply because it's just natural to flip a flyer over for more info anyways. Use the space for something else if needed.
The back is solid. Very very nice. Only crit is to make the info a little bigger. The ride info in the bottom left could go up a size or two and I'd fill the white space a little more in the center. You've got the room. I think it's just a lot of it on the left and not so much on the right. If it's not too much work, try and balance it a little more.

Are there any more of these left?
I saw one over at BRW this past week, and i'd like to get a handful or two so the support team or corkers on the next Midnight Ridazz ride can hand them out at intersections to the front cars waiting patiently.
I have downloaded the file, but if there were some already done, that would be even better.

MY $.02:
on the front:
lose the "you guys are crazy........flip this bad boy over!" sounds corny.
on the back:
put "POPULAR RIDES" in bottom left. some may think those are the only rides.
put them in order of first, second, third, last.
