the nearest redline stop is almost 9 miles away from the sns start point.
so who wants to roll down santa monica in a big group? being alone on that road sort of freaks me out.

take Wilshire if you want to be freaked out. Especially between Santa Monica Blvd. and Westwood blvd.
There is nothing more fun, then riding 35mph down those slopes with cars all around you, and then reality hits and you realize that if you crash or fall off that bike, that the cars around you won't stop in time, not to run you over.
You will say, "i will never do that again" then you do it again and again.
Oh I remember you will doing it around 8:30 pm. nevermind, but you got to try it during rush hour. It really stupid and dangerous

I love that Ride-arc and S&S are doing Westside Rides. Besides that its 2 minutes from my house, i think its a good way to get new riders or riders that may otherwise not venture downtown to experience the night time bike scene.
... Oh goody, lots of new beach cruiser riders who can't hold their line and UCLA Hipsters on shiny Fixies. Yay.
'Homer! You're supposed to think that, not say it out loud.

anyone know where the S&S ride will end? this is one of the best rides. i really want to go but i live on the westside and don't want to end up in the boonies...

rbi: take SMB through hollywood and west hollywood. when you get to beverly hills (Doheny Dr), cut left onto this small, dark, empty street that runs parallel to SMB called Civic Center Drive. ride down it, you need to jump a curb when you get to Beverly, but it keeps going after that... finally it curves to the left and dumps you on South Santa Monica Blvd, which you can take all the way to Century City where the bike path starts again.

RBI don't worry I did it three to four times a week for a few years.
there is always a police cruiser parked around the area of the police station(unoccupied). Even when I saw actual officers they just ignored me.
You on the other hand, the hair, the tight pants the outlaw bike, the glasses, the bandanna and your general cuteness, well I would be worry too.
The good news is, Santa Monica Blvd. west bound past Dohney (Beverly Hills), they finally filled in all that broken road that was on the shoulder, So its a smooth ride, where you don't have to go into the far left lane, or have full suspension mountain bike to ride it.
Watch out for those parallel (with your tire) storm drain grates.

DEL'S is a great little dumpy hole in the wall from what i remember. just off the corner of bundy and santa monica next to smart and final. If anyone's driving, i'd even recommend parking around Del's and riding to the start point. there's a liquor store and a 7-11 at smb and bundy.
