Matt, AKA stillline, has been nominated ROTW by many people. It's time he gets it! Matt is always helpful, awesome, more helpful, and more awesome. MATT KAN HAZ ROTW. Here's some questions I have happily copied:
I'm going to keep in mind that I need to refrain on posting too many pictures.
"Are bicycles a common method of transportation for paparazzi? Do they give you an advantage over cars?"
"How did you get to be so damned entertaining?"
Before riding I took pictures for fun or went to bars and movies and bowling and shit like that. I almost never do any of that stuff now. Riding is my primary social actiity and youknow what...its way for fun and way cheaper.
A bike is a great mode of transport for a papparazi. While all the other guys are re-parking their double parked SUV's they miss shots. I just lock my bike up as close to the red carpet as possible. Saves about the same amount on parking as it does on gas. Though rich hollywood types tend to hate on the kid with the bike. But fuck rich hollywood types anyway
I used to hear about 2nd friday mr at pioneer chicken all the time from other people around town but never got around to going until it had already stopped meeting there.
I really got into riding a lot when i was at the toronto film festival 2 years ago. Bikes there are way more common(think amsterdam) and i got a good one for $100. I shipped it home ups after the festival. It cost $300 to ship. I still have it its a bianchi.
I think my first group ride was sins and sprockets. That blew my mind. I literarlly spent the whole ride just tripping out on all the blinking lights. what a sight. My first official MR ride was the pillowfight. What luck...
I think that the craft night people should make a medal to be worn by the ROTW and passed on each week to the next nominee. Take a chainring, spraypaint it gold, add glitter, whatever.... Make it big, shiny and bike-y.
The ROTW can even make whatever modifications s/he chooses. Don't like gold? Paint it black... Have an extra bike part to glue on? Do it... Think it needs a picture of Chuck Norris? Make it happen...
Anyway, this is what I propose, for other people to do, because I am lazy.
LOL, YA THIS FOO CALLS ME AT 8:30 AM, TELLING ME THAT HE JUST WOKE UP AT CRANK MOB PARK, WELL YOU GUYZ KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING AT THAT MOMENT, RIGHT ???
The only problem I have with matt is that he loves to scream out rules @ the top of his lungs.. Matt let me swerve all I want mofo... I dont get all bent up on you keeping your line do I ?? Swerve mutha swerve........
Matt do you every worry that someday riding through West Hollywood you'll be surrounded by 8 cop cars and beaten off your bike after being mistaken for me?
jericho1ne was suggesting a different Matt should get some credit, yeah? But then he posted an image from this weekend's SM Daily Press. Which has that Matt (not stilline)'s picture on the cover. So maybe that Matt's not so short on credit after all. We do know it's not stilline.
If anyone else would like me to explain some jokes for them, by all means, let me know.
Matt also gets props for being the only person to give a poor shmuck that's trying to increase the number of tall bikes on the streets by selling them to people who want them a chance. Matt may not be Bike G-d, but he's definitely a Bike Angel.
Stillline is the old name of my now defunct wedding photography business. I shot like 100 weddings to pay for Jr. College. I never stopped using the handle though. I wish I could change it to HatesDistance
I did plan one ride with the royal academy and nathansnider but it was in SF. We will plan another one soon.
I used to think all hipsters were kind of void of any personality and somewhat smug with their attitudes. They always seemed to think they were in the know and I was clueless. I felt kind of jealous they could fit in tight fitting jeans and I couldn't. Now thanks to Matt, I just hate them.
Rock on Matt!!!!
Oh yeah, DON'T try to drink in Matt's car, he'll kick you out on the freeway!
BIG UPS TO THE FRIEND MATT WHO FIXED MY FLAT TIRE AND GRACIOUSLY SMOKED ME OUT AFTER I CRACKED MY GLASS PIECE AND HELPING LADY SHELI ON HER FALL. THANKS!
