Nice trees for riding under?

While commuting home on hot SFValley summer days I've noticed, in addition to their grateful shade, the occasional small moisture drop apparently fall from under the cool shade of the
Crepe-myrtle trees commonly used for street landscape in the west SFV. No way I thought, a moisture drop from a tree? No, must be overhead airplanes flushing their.... never mind. But a wiki search shows trees "sweat" in varying degrees a process called
transpiration: "A fully grown tree may lose several hundred gallons (a few cubic meters) of water through its leaves on a hot, dry day."
Only noticed this under crepe-myrtles; evidently pines don't transpire as much. Haven't noticed it under any other type of tree.
Nice trees for bike path shade on hot days if true. Anyone else notice anything like this, or am I just...
